My 16 year old daughter thinks I annoy her over her comings and goings. I shall continue to annoy her.

Good for you. Stay strong.

Cause in 20 plus years, she’ll be fighting the same battle you are fighting with her.

My 13 yo hates me because she can’t go anywhere without adult supervision.

Apparently, her friends are allowed to go places (mall, movies)

When I was a kid, between 3:30 and dinner, we were on our own - never had a problem. Things have changed.

I am going to be the most uncool mother when Sassy hits her teen years. I already am over protective. The moms in my neighborhood watch out for each other’s children & no child is left to play outside without at least one parent watching. Its sad that we have to watch our children so closely but it is better to be safe then sorry.

Mine texts us when ever she is on the move from friends, work or school. The penalty for NOT doing so is something she doesn’t want.

Lay a copy of this article on her bed. Don't say a thing. See what she says.

Amen - my 18-year-old college student knows that I’ll be on the couch waiting up for her no matter what time she gets in. It’s both accountability and comfort - she knows I’ll be there, and she knows I’ll know if she’s not there and that she won’t have to wait till morning to be missed. Dads, you’re the first line of defense in this area.

Man, my children know NOT to ever fall for a person trying to offer a lift or a favor that sounds too good to be true but after reading this, they will get a conversation from me tonight just in case....
