I posted an article awhile back about how a prostitute was raped. Many here on FR opined that prostitues were UNABLE to be raped. Some even went so far to claim that wives cannot be raped.

So it seems this type of thinking does permeate society, if it is here at FR.

Those were some of the most disturbing posts I have ever read on FR.

An Ann Arbor truck stop. If that is the one I am thinking of, it was a prostitution hot spot back in the 1970s when I still lived in A2.

Friends back then kept assuring me that prostitution was a victimless crime and I was uncool because I opposed legalizing it.

I am still uncool and stories like this one are why.

There is a lot of talk on this forum of securing our borders which must be done. But our interstate highway is not safe. It is a lifeline of all kinds of criminal commerce other than that of trafficking illegal aliens. For any policeman to make a stop of a suspicious vehicle on one of our interstates is a very very dangerous undertaking even in so called flyover country. With terroism such a priority at our aiports, criminals of all sorts make their way on the interstates.

Pretty sick ! One thing I have noticed in the last several years are the adult sex shops off of interstate exits. I seen some of the old Stucky Stores converted into adult book stores/peep shows. Not a good impression on kids.

I seen a few going through Kansas at night on I-70.

I have a 15 year old niece who is half Japanese and half white and she is a looker ! If I was her Daddy, I would keep a close eye on her especially the clothes that she is wearing. One time, her Dad told me that some college kid asked her out and she told him that she was 14. The college kid took of pretty quickly.

When my now 19 yr. old daughter was a few years younger and beginning to have more freedom, I warned her about talking to anyone approaching her in a friendly manner, even women. She was shocked when I told her that very often women are used as lures. Her naive attitude, understandably, was to only be leary of strange males. Parents--be sure to warn your young daughters today about the dangers of women or couples approaching them in a disarming manner. In fact, print this article and show it to your daughter. I plan to. I can feel the "eye roll" already.

My 15 yr old daughter has GPS tracking in her cell phone. I can see where she (or, at least her cell phone) is anytime of any day. When she starts driving next month, she will have a full GPS-tracking device in her vehicle so that I can see everywhere the vehicle goes, where it has been, and how fast it went, etc. While she chafes a little at this, she also has demonstrated that it makes her feel more secure knowing that her parents are watching over her for her safety.
