Islamabad, 14 Jan. (AKI) - (by Marco Liconti) - Pakistan is on the brink of revolution and President Pervez Musharraf must be immediately replaced, says the former head of the country's intelligence agency ISI, Lt. Gen Hamid Gul.In an exclusive interview with Adnkronos International (AKI) Gul said the political situation had deteriorated recently and the views of the country's 170 million people had been disregarded.
"I think things are getting out of control of the government," Gul told AKI. " I think there has to be a policy change."
Gul said the president had to be replaced if stability was to be restored in Pakistan and he blamed the "American government and the Jewish lobby" for supporting Musharraf.
"Have they forgotten that the revolution in Iran came because the US supported a very unpopular king?" he said.
