WASHINGTON, DC - The Washington Times today announced the appointment of John F. Solomon as executive editor to succeed Wesley Pruden, who is retiring after 25 years in The Washington Times newsroom. Solomon brings to the newsroom's leadership over two decades of journalism experience, with a strong background in investigative reporting and managing interactive digital content.
"John Solomon's appointment is a great step forward for The Washington Times, and is good news for our readers, staff and advertisers," said Thomas P. McDevitt, president of The Washington Times. "He is a working journalist, innovative manager, and skilled leader who can navigate the complicated media landscape while maintaining traditional news values and credibility."

The GREATEST writer in this town, bar none, was Wesley Pruden.
Clinton never knew what hit him.
I hope Wes Pruden is in good health. I hate to see him go.
Moving from one open and over ripe latrine pit to another.
Agreed....although didn’t he become quite bitter towards the GOP in recent years? (Not that I blame him, I have, as well.)
Hope this doesn’t mean that the Times’ conservative editorial viewpoint is circling the drain.
Apparently he wrote a number of stories that the Dems didn’t care for all, so maybe there is hope. Perhaps he was a sleeper conservative at AP.
I’m going to miss Wes Pruden. I have been enjoying his columns for years.
I find is sort of appalling that the only reason the Washington Times has stayed in business is that Sun Myung Moon has been willing to dump huge amounts of cash into it.
He let any gasbag have it if they preened too much.
The best thing about Pruden was when he went after the blow-dried media, who fancied themselves as 'journalists' when he knew full well that he was a 'newspaperman', and damned proud of it.
Happy Retirement, you old newspaperman. You did your profession proud.
Maryland "Freak State" PING!
It’s the Washington Times, not the Washington Post. They’re the good guys.
