COLUMBIA, South Carolina (CNN) – Hours after Democrat Hillary Clinton was sharply critical of rival Barack Obama in an interview on NBC's Meet The Press, the New York senator struck a different tone on his candidacy in a predominantly African-American church in South Carolina.
"Probably many of us thought we would never see the day when an African-American and a woman were competing for the presidency of the United States," Clinton said at the Northminster Presbyterian Church in Columbia. "I am so proud of my party I am so proud of my country and I am so proud of Sen. Barack Obama, because together we have presented our cases to the people."
"I am standing here, Senator Obama stands before you as a result of the generations of men and women who protested and picketed, faced dogs and tear gas," she continued. "Who were beaten and jailed who had night sticks crush their skulls. Some who lost their very lives. They risked their lives because they looked into the eyes of their children and saw the promise of a better future. We stand here today because of their sacrifice."
Clinton's comments followed her hour-long appearance on Meet The Press, in which she accused Obama's campaign of distorting remarks that she and her husband have made in recent days which touched off concerns among some African-American voters. Obama later rejected Clinton's complaints as "ludicrous."

Many liberals maybe - they tend to put people into bins...Conservatives tend to see people as people, and not really care about their skin color or gender...yet we are the racists.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this.
First, it's obvious she's trying to make up for her previous clumsy comments about Martin Luther King.
But Dr. King wasn't marching for women's rights. Isn't this just as clumsy---portraying herself as one of the victims Dr. King was marching for?
Maybe I'm wrong, but I would think this would grate on the black audience just like her earlier remarks did.
BARF! How phony can Hillary get? And where is Human and the story that the LA Times was supposed to have printed but decided to hold off? And what ever happened to the Edwards mistress story?
What Hillary meant to say was “here is Barack Obama, half black, but half white, half Christian and half Moslem, vying with me, half-woman, half-man for the leadership of this party. Too bad he has to occupy the wood pile, but y’all know the way things ‘sposed to be, so find that boy some warm place to sh*t so he’ll be quiet.”
Oh wait, they’re not black and are expected to be competent.
(Liberals are inherently racists. That is why they use terms like ‘African American’. In their minds saying that someone is ‘black’ is a bad thing. It is like an insult. Therefore the word 'black' needs a euphemism. They betray their true feelings every time they try to be nice and look after the poor little minority people.)

She will, by the end of the campaign, be nearly compelled to select Obama as her running mate.
To not do so would obviously be racist.
