The Talk Shows
Sunday, January 13th, 2008
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., and former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Romney, Huckabee, former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., and former Sen. Fred Thompson, R-Tenn.; Abdul-Qader al-Obeidi, Iraqi defense minister.
Because of health, both would be president within those first four years, and because of demonization of Huck's Christianity, with Huck nonetheless having sufficient clout to stay on to be the nominee next time around, the demons would surely win in '12.
By '17, at least three more liberal supreme court justice nominations will have sailed through the Senate, thrashing any hopes for a truly conservative court for at least a generation.

thanks, AB. :)
You forgot SUNDAY DINNER!
Dangerous to “teach the party a lesson.” If McCain is nominated and loses, some will say it was cuz he is prolife, or cuz he cut spending. We could go to even worse!
When people say "I will not vote of so and so wins the nomination" The "I will not vote" IS no different then taking ones football and going home. No football, no game, the football is the vote and the game is Americas future. I'll stand by what I said, if you are bothered by it, so be it. I meant no insult but stated my opinion.
What these people are threatening to do is no different, although much more serious then a football fan getting up and leaving the game because his favorite player was removed from the game. It's supposed to be about the team, not the individual. We need to get the Republicans elected and then work for change from a position of strength. Look what average people did in the Summer to defeat the amnesty bill. It can be done.
Glad you enjoyed it. It is a guide in my book, certainly not science.
I’m slighty to the right of Atilla the Hun.
Waterboard ‘em all and let Charlie the Tuna sort ‘em out.
Truer words were never spoken. Romney, Giuliani, Huckabee, McCain -- ALL of those guys force you and me and the rest of us into cherry-picking individual traits. One guy is for smaller taxes, but bigger government in "solving" global warming. Another guy is for smaller government in schools, but supports the idea of great big government "helping" with health care and taking over a very large and vital part of the American ecnomomy. If I am forced to vote for those guys, I'm voting for the individual, NOT THE TEAM!!!!! The TEAM REPUBLICAN is supposed to stand up for your and my individual rights to limited government. This party has swung so extremely far away from that base that it is no longer playing the same game and these guys are on no team I identify with.
Indeed, it's the beauty of Fred Thompson and why he is truly a TEAM player. It's not about voting for Fred. It's about voting for Team Republican to stand up for Limited Government.
Your original words were: If they dont get their dream candidate then to hell with the rest of us, theyll take their football and go home. Now THAT will show us!!
You respond later: I meant no insult ...
Oh,Puh-leeeze. Look, I SHARE your essential concern and worry, I do. But the least you can do is be honest about WHY you think I'm not willing to blindly vote for "Team R" anymore
I used to think the same as you. A few years ago, it could have been me writing the words you've written on this thread. But Arnold Schwarzenegger taught me a hard, hard lesson about the real greater of two evils and the long-term affects of buying into a premise that betrays principle.
If you want to take this "team" analogy further, here's the deal. You expect me to invest my money, my efforts, my passion, in a football team whose managers are hiring more and more basketball players. And then they wonder WHY I STAY HOME FROM THE GAME. It isn't to "show them a lesson" or to pout, as you deny saying you think, but because it's the wrong game, period.
I haven't decided what I'm going to do if the Republican presidential candidate isn't Thompson. But IF I DO sit it out and let "better" minds like your own do the dirty work, that's my right and your attributing it --which you do, as much as you deny it -- to small-minded pettiness of "I'll just take my football and go home, assholes!" is stupid and insulting.
It would be pretty easy to agree with all you say BUT, we are at war and with an enemy the Democrats seem to favor over the citizenry of their own country. The times are different and in THIS time I don’t believe we can afford to give the left anymore of an opportunity to wreck this nation then has already been given them.
I may or may not be one to give my life for a principle but i do not think any of us should be so willing to give the lives of others for our principle. In this world, today, considering all that is going on and is seemingly ready to happen (Iran)we can not, must not do anything to aid the left in acquiring any more power.
Now, I don't need Rush Limbaugh to do my thinking for me. Here's the deal: Rush is a real team player who understands the concept of "team." People who would support McCain or Huck or Romney or Giuliani apparently only understand the concept of personalities.
Hillary Clinton took off-the-record White House assurances, she says, about
the authorization (full text below) not meaning what it plainly states.
Clearly, she is mentally unfit for public office of any sort. Her general
ability to derive meaning from written content appears to be severely
diminished, and it would appear that her perceptions of reality are
dangerous to America and her allies.
I'm not speaking to my support for anyone here. I actually like Thompson. My point was, as much as I would like to see Thompson win I want MORE to see a Democrat lose, because I really believe the very future of our nation is at stake.
