The Talk Shows
Sunday, January 13th, 2008
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., and former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Romney, Huckabee, former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., and former Sen. Fred Thompson, R-Tenn.; Abdul-Qader al-Obeidi, Iraqi defense minister.
Thanks! Good questions.
I’m pretty much in the same vein. My first preference today is Fred Thompson, followed by Romney then Giuliani. I like Hunter but he’s out of it from what I see. McCain and Huckabee are not conservatives and will not get the nomination, IMHO.
Kelly Wright leans left strongly.
Morning Ab; All.
2008’s been okay so far. Still sticking to the diet. Washing machine broke but turned out not to be broke. Been mostly behaving.
Starting to think maybe conservatism is lost here in America. Else why does every Repub running want to align themselves with liberals?
Starting to reconsider if maybe I’m in the minority in this country.
If Obama is a Republican, his middle-name would be all over the media.
BTW, Greg Kelley said on F&F that all these things are minor & mean nothing.
I wasn’t talking about neutral between Dem and GOP. Duh!
I’m talking about between Hillary and Obama. Hillary needs them to remain neutral....they know that. The question is how much money they can squeeze out of her to do so?
Let me put it this way: those ratings are peanuts compared to prime time (and even a lot of daytime) series. They’re only reaching about 2-4% of households. I did a comparative analysis two weeks ago, it showed nearly identical numbers for the morning shows and the talk shows (at least for NBC and ABC, CBS lost half of its audience from Sunday Morning to FTN) which says to me they’re just leaving the TV on and not watching, and a lot of the “audience” is a bunch of “soccer moms” who don’t care about this stuff as much as us FReepers do.
If it weren’t for public interest requirements I don’t think it’d even be worth keeping the shows on the air.
The biggest reason in my mind not to give Mcswain the time of day is that those of us who are sworn Pubbies should never ever consider McCain because he is not a party player, not that we demand lockstep but to ditch us as much as he has and to go rino in a heartbeat engenders only animosity toward him from much of the party.
Here in deep S. Fla. we would never except him.
I was watching FNC during coverage of the NH primary and the McCain love-fest became more than I could stand. Fred Barnes was giddy. I turned to CNN, which I rarely do and watched them for awhile. They were tolerable with the exception of that bloviating blowhard Bill Bennett. What a McCain pimp he is. Ralph Reed was good. Drudge had a post showing CNN beat FNC that night. That should get the attention of Ailes.
Not to mention the war thats broken out between the unions in Nevada:

But...but...but... I thought that the dems wanted every vote to count.....?
I try not to watch any of it, FR is hard to beat.
Answer of the morning: Highly doubtful, but we’ll see. Russert’s been pretty good the past few weeks.
I am agreeing here. dissapointed in fox, all this trashy murder and lost people stories...where is the politicla discussion and reviews?
