Goldberg doesn't understand fascism. He's conflating fascism and totalitarianism.
Fascism is inherently reactionary, it's an attempt to return to a utopian past.
Liberalism is inherently radical, it assumes that human reason(as defined by whatever svengali is in charge) can bring about an ideal society.
In essence, liberalism is forward thinking totalitarianism, fascism is *backward* thinking totalitarianism.

Is your headline accurate? My listings say the times are 10 pm, 3:30 am, and 10 am Eastern.

Oh, and by the way, you can listen to a interview with Jonah on Dennis Prager’s show. It is streamed on. You will have to search around for the Dennis Prager show and look down the list for hour 2 of Thursday.
Dennis Prager Hour 2 Thursday 10 January, 2008. I don't know how long the link will be valid.

Bought the book.
Just barely started seems to be a rather decent piece of scholarship. I just hope he added some of his humor to it.

[Jonah Goldberg explores the political theories of fascism and contends that there are several colloaries between the politics of the left and fascist ideology.]
He is right about that.

Late-arriving lurkers/posters should note that Goldberg’s BookTV
(C-Span2) presentation on his book can be viewed over the Internet
by punching the “Watch Now” red button at the URL below.
If you have dial-up, you might only get a jerky video display
(like a music video from the 1980’s MTV), but should get a decent
audio feed.
