Catholics play vital role in helping migrants to U.S.

NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico (Reuters) - At a Catholic-run shelter just across the border from Laredo, Texas, dozens of Latin American migrants say grace and tuck into a hearty meal of sausages, beans and rice, before trying to swim across the Rio Grande into the United States.

Weary migrants on their journey north often recharge their batteries at a network of similar shelters run by the Roman Catholic Church -- a lifeline sanctioned by the Vatican, despite increased U.S. efforts to keep out illegal immigrants.

"Migration is a human right and migrants are some of the world's most vulnerable people. It is the church's obligation to help them," said the Rev. Francisco Pellizzari, an Italian-Argentine missionary who runs the Nazareth migrant shelter in Nuevo Laredo.

If my wife listens in to me and my droogs plot the murder of someone, and never turns me in or says anything to the cops, she will be an accessory and do the same time ... even if we don't actually carry through with the deed. It's called conspiracy.

That's the law.

Aiding and abetting is against the law. Facilitating the commitment of a crime is against the law.

Where do you see the Pope calling for a forced distribution of weath[sic]? Then it would be socialism.

And just how else do you believe this redistribution will occur? The RCC is, and has been an advocate of "Santa Claus" socialism for a while now.

"Migration is a human right and migrants are some of the world's most vulnerable people. It is the church's obligation to help them,"

He has a point. I think we should follow the Church's example and adopt immigration laws that are identical to those of the Vatican.

If they break the law, arrest them. And sue them for abetting trespass.

So do the Methodists, Episcopalians, and QUAKERS, among others. BUt the actions of the organizations and some of their leaders do NOT reflect the opinions of many, if not all, of their adherents. Except for QUAKERS (Society of “Friends”)

Considering the actions of QUAKERS during the Revolution, its surprising they weren’t all kicked out with the Tories.

Pope’s word from post 19

“We need a greater HOPE, which allows us to
==>> prefer the COMMON GOOD of ALL to the luxury of few and the poverty of many,’’

“Moderation is not only an ascetic RULE, but also a way of SALVATION FOR HUMANITY.’’

“By now it is OBVIOUS that ONLY by adopting a sober lifestyle,

==>> accompanied by a SERIOUS commitment to a FAIR DISTRIBUTION of WEALTH,

==>> will it be POSSIBLE to INSTALL a JUST and SUSTAINABLE model of DEVELOPMENT,’’

*BTTT*

This hit the fan on O’Reilly and Cavuto yesterday.

I also hear that the Pope is expected to address the need for compassion on illegal immigration. Perfect timing for nationwide raids, if someone were looking to stir up sympathy for the cause of illegal aliens. And just in time for May 1st.

Catholic Church runs shelters in Mexico that assist in illegal immigration

US bishops ask ICE to assist families, communities after immigration

and WTH?

83. The Gospel mandate to “welcome the stranger” requires Catholics to care for and stand with immigrants, both documented and undocumented, including immigrant children. Comprehensive reform is urgently necessary to fix a broken immigration system and should include a temporary work program with worker protections and a path to permanent residency; family reunification policies; a broad and fair legalization program; access to legal protections, including due process and essential public programs; refuge for those fleeing persecution and exploitation; and policies to address the root causes of migration. The right and responsibility of nations to control their borders and to maintain the rule of law should be recognized.

in addition to my post above, more importantly (and unbelievable)....

38. It is important to be clear that the political choices faced by citizens not only have an impact on general peace and prosperity but also may affect the individual’s salvation.
