Thanks for the link.
It would suck for Merrill Lynch. Do you have any idea how hard it is for Wall Street banks to find talented executives today? And recruiting Thain was their big coup...
It would appear that there is more at play than just republicans versus democrats.
Huckabee going after left and right wing populists.
Paul going after left and right wing extremists
McCain going after left and right wing moderates.
And if that doesn't cover all the bases, Bloomberg will enter the race seeking a cross-over vote.
It has become the left and the right against the middle.
Political Elites - Corporate Elites
Can the “5 year plan” be far behind?
Yep. Just what we need, more traitorous open border crooks in D.C.... (/sarcasm)
No need to even think about a juan mckennedy administration, let alone worry about one. juan will be finished again for the final time after South Carolina.
Then I will turn to the stock room boy for economic advice. Just despise those that make a continued success out of a company, and when in more difficult times for many in their same industry !! Innovation, new ideas be damned.
What was I thinking? Thanks for the heads up! "stocksthatgroup".
There were many.
If guided by "free market" through the due diligence aka history of performance, experts that have successfully sailed their own flag ships and those nasty little "democracy" ideals as ingredients; some of these plans might have become a success. It's not just THE plan, it comes down to one self-annoited sacred vessel of thought or the collective chalices that surround.
I think we might have more fear that Google might want to take over the world. The "Google Train" just keeps speeding along.
This traitor to his party will never get my vote.
You McCainiacs are such Cult of Personalisty bores.
Can you ever make a rational factional case for your god or can all you do is spam this board with endless posts of meaningless slogans?
For Conservatives McCain is the worst of all worlds.
From Tax-cuts to the War to Judges McCains whole strategy has been to be as Liberal as possible and stay in the GOP.
Politically there is very little difference between Hillary and McCain. McCain has done nothing for the Conservative movement in 8 years. While talking a good game on spending he has done nothing. He has actively worked against the Conservatives on Social issues, on the WOT, on Iraq, on Gitmo, against Rummy, on Immigration and on Judges, on Global Warming etc etc etc etc etc. McCain has far more in common with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama then he does with Tom Coburn or the Senate GOP.
McCain would be the worse of both worlds. A mislabeled Conservative Administration actively advancing the Democrat Partys agenda while knifing Conservatives in the back daily. You could count on a McCain Administration to appoint Leftist Judges in order to avoid fighting with the Democrats in the US Senate.
McCain would fracture the few remaining GOP Congress critters into pro and anti McCain factions. McCain would be the worst of all world politically for the Conservatives.
At least with a Democrat Leftist Administration, as opposed to a McCain Leftist with a GOP Label Administration, the Democrats would get all the political fall out of their disastrous political decisions and the GOP would unite in fighting them. I do know who would be the worst of all possible worlds, that would be McCain.
Pure nonsense. Utterly NO evidence to suggest McCain would win. Most probable would be McCain would lose OH-VA-CO. Those are states that have dumped McCain style Republican moderates recently. There is no reason to expect them to vote Democrat Lite when they can get the real deal from the Democrats.
The mistake you McCainiacs make is you confuse National polls for an election strategy. Presidential elections are won state by state, not in National Likability polls.
Even if McCain might win a very close election against Hillary, it would do little to change the make up of the US Congress. It would be Leftist Establishment politician against unprincipled blow in the breeze politician. It would leave the current Congress virtually unchanged since no one is going to fight very hard to elect Democrat Lite GOP candidates. McCain would be a drag on the whole ticket.
McCain could not even pick up one additional state over those Bush won in 2004. So even if McCain managed to win, the losers would be the GOP and the Conservative Movement

Politically there is very little difference between Hillary and McCain. You get minor variations on this and that issue, like abortion, but over all McCain and Clinton share the same political philopshical outlook

The worst of all possible worlds for us in 1008 would be McCain getting elected President.
So one of the most consistently Leftist US Senators is supporting McCain and that is suppose to be a good thing for Conservatives?
Ahhh..wins back CT from a Democrat favored by the party, and a useless Republican?
Considered a Piranya to the Democratic elite?
Add note I am undecided.
Add another note I see nothing of any defined strategy from the other "conservative(?)" candidates as they all seem to spend more media time over petty personal attacks which make for endless useless chatter (on tears and fairy tales) serving no purpose to taxpayers.
No one candidate can please everyone within their own party.
Some here can only focus straight ahead with no peripheral vision, whatsoever.
I plan to vote for the guy who has a working relationship with members of both parties and builds the cabinet/committees/ with those that actually write paychecks for a living..that keeps the country moving while others in government do their best to grind it to a hault. All for the love of the Party. *removes next statement*
However, you at least state an intelligent opinion, then a one line attack on another who may comment. Thanks.

McCain-Feingold-Cochran would strengthen current law to prohibit foreign nationals from making any contributions in a federal, state or local election. The foreign money abuses from the 1996 election that captured so much attention would be entirely shut down by this proposal.
McCain-Feingold-Cochran contains a number of provisions designed to improve disclosure of campaign finance information and strengthen enforcement of the law. The bill would: (1) strengthen current law to make it clear that it is unlawful to raise or solicit campaign contributions on federal property, including the White House and the United States Congress: (2) bar federal candidates from converting campaign funds for personal use, such as a mortgage payment or country club membership; (3) specify circumstances in which activities by outside groups or parties will be considered coordinated with candidates; and (4) provide more timely disclosure of independent expenditures.
