MT. PLEASANT, South Carolina - Cisco Systems John Chambers and FedEx founder Fred Smith could be among those asked to serve in a John McCain cabinet, the Arizona senator said on Friday.

But their services would have to come at a discount.
I want to go get the best and the brightest, whether theyre Republican or Democrat, and Im going to tell these men and women: Work for a dollar. Work for a dollar a year. Youve done pretty well in America. And serve America and help us put government back on a business basis, so were not wasting taxpayers dollars, McCain said at a campaign in South Carolina ahead of the states January 26 primary contest.
McCain, fresh from winning the Republican primary in New Hampshire, went on to contrast the efficiency of companies like Wal-Mart and FedEx with the Bush administrations fumbling response to Hurricane Katrina, which decimated much of the Gulf coast in 2005.
McCain also mentioned Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman as a potential cabinet member. Lieberman, a former Democrat now serving as an independent, has endorsed McCains candidacy.
Left off the list was South Carolina Republican Sen. Linsday Graham, a McCain supporter who introduced him at the rally.
Graham said that was fine by him.
Ive got the best job in America. Everybody elected to the Senate from South Carolina lives to be 100, Graham told Reuters after the event.
Graham became South Carolinas first new senator since 1965 when he was elected in 2002. His predecessor, Strom Thurmond, retired at age 100.
Is “yeah” saying you remember and agree or is “yeah” saying you want the link?
LOL!
I’m sorry, was I in a coma during the nomination process. Surely the nod wasn’t given to the head Rino after a single victory in a state where he was supposed to win from the gitgo. However, this thread sure smacks of a fait accompli. (Sigh) Guess I’ll remove the Thompson sign from my yard. There’s no sense in pressing on.

Why don't you shut your political pie hole?
Stifling the www? Online Freedom of Speech Act (H.R. 1606)
"1606 is needed because federal courts have ordered the Federal Election Commission to regulate "electioneering communications" on the Internet because of the Bipartisan Campaign Finance Reform Act (McCain-Feingold). If H.R. 1606 fails to become law, your Web site or blog could be shut down for the 30 days prior to a primary election and the 60 days prior to a general election should you express "electioneering communications."
Yes, please.
I agree. Maine, for instance, could go rhino red..but red is red. CT, MA, NH, MA..all and all this could be "Check Mate".
The Telecoms and their suppliers need a boost as well; plus market friendly with the Big Box neighborhood included. Communication opened up with leaders of industry without the punishment rhetoric is a positive.
Getting more interesting, so my interest is peaked. Have been bored lately with "tears on my pillow" or "fairy tales" running as lead story. The Billions Clinton wants to spend on the sub prime fiasco which is a mostly welfare bail outs for the "typical sub-prime borrower"(small percentage of all borrowers) said to have lots of credit-card debt, big car payments etc.. so refinancing to pay some of it off."
Undecided, but at least dialog is intelligent for a change. Interesting.
Er, I want the link. Should have been more clear in my affirmative.
I believe it.

Like this:
I want to know why the Dems are talking (none / 0)
Kerry and Daschle have kept these particular juicy tidbits under their hats for years even though timely revelation could have done them much political good (especially Kerry, who got some flack at the time). Why dump it out now when it just embarasses and infuriates McCain? If McCain is still in the Senate in 2009 he’ll be a lot harder to work with, and if they’re planning to zing his presidential campaign I’d think they should wait until the thick of the campaign. At present the Republicans can just drop him with little harm to their prospects.

Who cares about John McCain?
“I was raised in an Episcopal church and attended high school at a high school called Episcopal High School. I have attended North Phoenix Baptist Church for many years, and the most important thing is that I’m a Christian. And I don’t have anything else to say on the issue,” McCain said.

Seems like a lot of folks, as they didn't throw votes toward the other candidates.
That is an interesting comment. Thank you for the link.
Those mentioned would rather hire from India ;)..science, engineering, technology -education required.

You are most welcome.

Heavy hitters that SHOULD be listened to and learned from.
Many of us do.
I wonder how many people who saw that thought “Episcopal High School” was a run of the mill Christian school, and how many realized that it was one of the most prestigious prep schools in the country (especially outside New England) that naturally attracts people of every faith.
But to be fair, I think the school maintains a stronger Christian identity than many other prep schools with similar roots.
