Statement from Lois Davidson, Mother of Killer's Victim, in Response to Huckabee
Lois Davidson, whose daughter Carole Sue Shields was raped and killed in 2000 by a criminal whose release from prison was championed by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, issued the following statement today in response to Huckabee's contention in a television interview that her story was being "exploited" for political purposes: "Last night, Mike Huckabee accused me of being exploited and used for political purposes. I assure you, Mr. Huckabee, I am not being exploited. I am fully aware of the actions I have taken in attempting to inform the public of your role in my daughter's rape and murder. I have spent over 7 years thinking about this. "I am not a dupe. But you, Governor Huckabee, were duped time and again by convicted felons who once released from prison by you began hurting people again. "Mr. Huckabee, I am not a victim. However, my daughter was a victim. She was raped and murdered by a serial rapist that you wanted freed from prison. Please be honest about the role you played in releasing my daughter's killer."
Huckabee's dismissal of Davis came during an interview on the Hannity and Colmes television program following a Republican debate in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Davidson's story is the subject of an ad aired in South Carolina this week focusing on Huckabee's dismal record on the rights of crime victims. The ad was developed and paid for by Victims Voice, an Arkansas-based victims advocacy group and can be viewed on the Victims Voice Web site at www.victimsvoice527.com.
The 60-second ad from Victims Voice tells of how Shields was raped and murdered in 2000 by Wayne Dumond, a former inmate in Arkansas prisons whose release was championed by Huckabee. After his release, Dumond relocated to Missouri, where he raped and killed Shields and is believed to have killed another woman. Dumond died in prison in 2005.
Victims Voice is a non-profit 527 launched in December 2007 to expose the Mike Huckabee record of releasing hardened criminals from prison. During his 10 ½ years as governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee released over 1,000 criminals from Arkansas prisons. That total is more than that of the previous two Democratic governors combined, one of whom was Bill Clinton.
"Gov. Huckabee's suggestion that Lois Davidson is being 'exploited' is deplorable, and his callous dismissal of Ms. Davidson as a political pawn is shameful," said Keith Emis, director of Victims Voice. "According to all published reports, Huckabee played a key role in supporting Dumond's release, but now he's trying to run from his record. How many more women must die or live in fear before Mike Huckabee is held accountable for his actions?"
ping!
Huckabee claims he was just doing what he was mandated to do by law. Same claim he makes for raising taxes. The question is; was he locked in by the law and simply did what he had to do or did he actively endorse his pardon? And others. I think the truth is coming out and it doesn’t look good for Huck.
He does claim this in regard to taxes.
He claims he had to raise all sorts of taxes, because the law said so.
All he had to do was cut programs to meet the budget. He did not. That is not leadership.
Did he not cut those taxes back after getting a surplus.
No leadership.
Just a yes man to the legislature.
Despicable campaigning, trying to denegrate Mike Huckabee using the mother of a rape victim.
Here’s the reality of it:

The "they made me do it" defense is phoney. Romney can eat that one too.
I’m with you jennyjenny
vaudine
A close second?? Romney had nothing to do with the judge’s decision. Huckabee was directly responsible for the release of Dumond.
Here is a link to an audio of Fred on Mark Levin’s radio show, plus another link there to Mark Levin’s National Review Online piece about Mike Huckabee:

Mark Levin was calling Huckabee something else in this audio clip, he nicknamed him Huckaphony.
TWO reasons....
1. This is primary season
2. Huckabee is a socialist and bleeding heart liberal in republican clothing.
Mitt appointed the judge, a flaming Lib, just like Mitt
Because this is a primary to elect a Republican presidential candidate and just because they stand on the dais with an (R) next to their name doesn’t mean I should refrain from exposing their weaknesses. If it is not done in the primary it will be done in the general to much greater and debilitating effect.
A primary should be a long, grueling, exposing of a candidates strengths, weaknesses, history and vision.
Huckabaloo is the “Gomer Pyle” of the Republican Party, who uses religion and his jimah carter style in an attempt to garner the sheeple vote.
I heard when “Yuckabee” won Iowa his first word was “Shazaam.” satire
Anyone who wants to give the children of illegal aliens free tuition and social services has no business running for POTUS.
The dems have their three (Losers) for America, saying anything to get elected. They hungrily want to take away our second amendment rights, hyper tax us (The middle class) into poverty and grant amnesty to all the downtrodden criminal illegals.
Shill, Osama and Pink Pony anxiously want to let loose the (Big Brother) 1984) commie scenario on America.
Bill and Shill should both be wearing prison attire in a Federal Max Facility, with no chance of parole.
Oh well, will sign off now from. “Radio Free On The Bay.”
P.S. Your post is 100% accurate about “Shazaam Huckabaloo.”
Respectfully,
NSNR
Have you looked at the candidates running on our side?
I think that would answer you question. Only 2 real conservatives there; and one is being completely ignored at the moment.
Husk’s spinning so fast in that interview, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a cyclone of dust travelling up his pant leg......
Are you on drugs?
Huckster admitted he both wrote a letter urging parole and verbally urged the parole board for parole - which the parole board confirmed - and then gurgled some nonsense about it being Clinton's fault.
This isn't some rumor from the past by a shadowy, nameless reporter. It's Huckster's own words, spoken on national television, repeatedly over the last few days!
527s...good grief!
No, Gov. Huckabee did not confess to urging the parole board to parole Dumond, as I recall what he said, either in writing or in the meeting he attended with them about it.
The often mentioned letter is one he wrote to Dumond, himself, as he was denying Dumond's commutation - one of three or four occasions of the denial by Gov. Huckabee. Your account is pretty indicative of your bias.
