Fred, while more animated last night, still comes across as an old codger and looks horrible.

Fred needs to go out with his wife and kids more often. Doesn't look like an "old codger" then.

One point, though--being in the White House ages people very fast, I'd hate that to happen to someone with little children like Mr. Thompson.

Then again, modern presidents (and first ladies) clearly live for a long time. Might be the best thing he can do for his little ones!

Actually I think being with his wife and children makes him appear even older as as first glance you think that it is his daughter and grandchildren.

That is a problem IMHO with someone who does not have age appropriate wife or children.

I think he comes over better without them but that is just me and may not be the case for others.

Again although I think he was good last night and certainly after Duncan Hunter would be my choice I do still fear in this media beautiful people era whether he has the looks and personality to appeal countrywide. He answered a few of my doubts last night but not all of them.
