Then he says "Republican candidates must risk angering their base by ruling out mass deportation."

I dont' get it. If they're here illegally, they have broken the law, and therefore, according to his prescription, they should be deported.

That is a contradiction, but in Hansen’s frame of mind he means “deport aliens who have broken some law other than entering illegally.”
