She obviously committed fraud in Florida in order to backup her claim for homestead exemption there.

I find it extrememly funny the Democrats put up a so-called “poster child” against photo ID when this lady owns homes in two stats, is REGISTERED to vote in two states and claims homestead exemption in two states.

Hopefully FL will arrest her for fraud or at the very least end her homestead exemption and fine her.

In Indiana you can get an ID issued by the BMV for free. It is good for eight years.

If someone is too lazy to do this then they shouldn’t be voting.

The benefit of this law far outweighs the downside.

How many snowbirds vote in Florida directly and New York by absentee. I'll bet it's quite a few.

This lady seems to have been trying to have it both ways: pay no state taxes in Florida and then vote in Indiana. Declaring homestead rights is also illegal.

Clearly the RATS still don’t understand vetting. May it always be so :)

“But I feel like I’m a victim here,” Ewing said. “I never intended to do anything wrong. I know a lot of people in Florida in this same situation – they call us ‘Snowbirds,’ you know.”

Snort. Playing the senior card?

Its called fraud, granny. If tax laws are to complicated for you to understand, quit voting for Democrats. There is no such thing as a free lunch!

ROTFLMAO!

I’m going to go check the Indianapolis Star to see if they’re running this story too.

OOOOOOPPPPS....... She is going to lose her HOMESTEAD status in one state or the other, and I believe they can make her pay back any property tax advantages attached to same.

I don’t think she is the only person doing this.

She claimed a homestead exemption on the Florida property in 2003 – the same time she was claiming a homestead exemption on property she owned in Indiana, according to Tippecanoe deputy auditor Heather Satler. Satler said that Ewing’s Indiana exemption began in 1994 and ended in 2004, when the exemption was removed because the state discovered she wasn¹t living there.

that's where she's in trouble... TAX FRAUD. You see, she wasn't trying to vote, just to NOT PAY TAXES. Cause she's a poor little granny.

bunch of cr#p. This and every election is being stolen with fraud. Illegals, welfare parasites, felons and the ACORN bunch insure that there will be a democrat majority. Not until our RINO's get tired or someone with balls shows up to send people to federal prison will we get this under control.

Having a second home in Florida makes her a weak case for the “poor, disenfranchised citizen” sob story they’re using against this law. Unless she’s a migrant worker, which I somehow doubt.

I live in Indianapolis and have always understood we are required to carry ID all the time not just to vote?

I don¹t think Faye was trying to do anything illegal.

Pretty obvious she was -- claiming a Homestead exemption on two different houses in two different states.

What’s really funny is that in the trial court decision on this the Judge noted that the dems had failed produce a single person who had been or may be harmed by this law. Not a single one. So you know they’ve been looking everywhere to find an example. The only one they are able find turns out to be a fraudster. And some people think there is no God.

OOPS.

Now the sweet little lady who was quite likely committing tax fraud might be wishing she kept her little mouth shut.

Oh, the irony.

Contacted on her way to Washington for the hearing, Joanne Evers, president of the ILWV said she had no idea that Ewing – who is listed first in the ILWV’s Supreme Court brief – had dual voter registrations.

Even so, she said, it doesn’t diminish the opposition¹s case.

Yes it does!!! It is AMAZING how so many poster children of the left are exposed as fraudulent.

“I don¹t think Faye was trying to do anything illegal. The fact that she did not vote in Florida leads me to believe she did not intend anything criminal. I was at the poll when she was unable to vote and saw what she had to go through to get an Indiana ID card. I think (all of this) is part of the confusion. I hope the law is not to befuddle people trying to do the right thing.”

Well it should!!! She signed an affidavit, SWEARING she wasn't registered in any other state. That is a deliberate, illegal act. And to say that all this is part of the "confusion"? Snort. You're the one obfuscating, ILWV lady.

“(Ewing) is an example of how difficult it was to get an ID, period,” Evers said. “This law was intended to catch someone who is impersonating someone else and votes twice, not to catch someone who is perhaps trying to understand the bureaucracy of two states.

She got an Indiana drivers license in a few hours in spite of the fact that she claims Florida as her state of residency. And she still could have bypassed this by voting with the absentee ballot sent to her.

Sounds to me like she was planning on voting for President in two states.

"I (Joanne Evers, president of the ILWV) was at the poll when she was unable to vote and saw what she had to go through to get an Indiana ID card.”

So, the President of the Indiana League of Women Voters just happened to be there, then followed the "victim" through the process of getting an ID.

BS. She hand picked this "poster girl" victim and either the old hag never told her the whole story, or she didn't think anyone would have the stones to investigate her.
