He raised $5 million today??
To: americanophile
Yeah, he shop drop out — right. His support is dwindling — right. Meanwhile, McCain and Huckabee are trying to force him out, while he raises this amount of money.

I just heard on the news though that he is pulling ads in everywhere but MI because he needed to focus on there.

General Election funds? As in, he can’t use them during the Primary season funds?

At Iowa rates ($250 a vote), that’s enough for 20,000 more votes. LOL

McCain and Huchabee must have put a scare into people. Even though it is too early, as Cavuto pointed out, to declare anyone the winner - with results representing a tiny fraction from the relatively liberal Iowa and NH where reportedly many outside the state could vote.

Mormons have worldwide real estate holdings of $50 billion. He need only to appeal to Mormon donors and rake in millions. There is also the
"White Horse" Prophecy of Joseph Smith, which many Mormons believe that Romney may fulfill. Interesting stuff.

From Rush Limbaugh’s web site today:
“But make no mistake: Governor Huckabee, at this stage, in my opinion, is in the race to take Romney out of the way for McCain. Just to hit off on this evangelical business, the thing Huckabee’s gotta understand is if you have made a deal with McCain behind the scenes, under the table, understand it’s one way, because McCain is going to throw you overboard as soon as he has to, Governor (laughing), when the time comes — and he’ll not remember the deal or it will get reshaped in his mind or somehow changed. McCain “also said he’d point out something that he’s not always been comfortable doing — that he’s voted the anti-abortion line for his whole career. ‘I’ll also try to make them remember that my social conservative record has been consistent and unchanging,’” and in that way he’s going to take out Rudy. So he’s going to try to get the Huckabee vote with the global warming route and try to get the evangelicals. He’s going to try to take Rudy out with his consistent abortion stand, which he’s not fabricating. He has been consistent on the pro-life issue.”

Given that Romney has already spent more than all of his opponents combined, I don't see how this is significant to anyone other than his wife.
All the money in the world can't make Willard into a conservative. His record haunts him.

Sheesh. Fred Thompson is struggling to raise $540,000 by January 11. I don’t know how much $$ he has on hand, but it’s probably nothing compared with Romney.
I have been wondering if Romney has pretty much 100% support among Mormons. Can anyone shed any light on that for me?

WOW, that kind of puts Freds hope to get $500,000 in a week to shame. Mitts Porsche vs Freds Little Red Truck, which one will win the race?
That is very impressive though, good for Mitt.

Watch out for all the Fred supporters admitting they were wrong when they predicted Mitt wouldn’t be able to raise a dime after the past week’s results.
But Fred’s doing fine as well, he’s close to raising the $500,000 he needs for the campaign commercial.

About 500 Romney volunteer fundraisers from across the country joined Governor Romney in Boston today to call donors nationwide to raise both primary and general election dollars.
How much of that was for the primary, and how much would, as Romney's campaign manager reminded donors, be returned when Romney doesn't get the nomination?
Face it, Romney's money is tight or he wouldn't have stopped those ad buys in Florida and South Carolina.
