EXCLUSIVE: A clash of cultures between Asian and eastern European youths is leading to increasing tension and violence on Yorkshire's streets, it is claimed. Some young Britons of Asian descent are now leading a campaign of intimidation against the new economic migrants from eastern Europe, whom they claim are taking their jobs.
The situation has become so bad in cities like Bradford that a leading social think-tank has begun research into how to get the two sides working together.
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation has commissioned Bradford-based organisation QED to identify the causes of tensions between the two groups and improve cultural understanding and communication between them.
In the introduction to the project it states: "The newly-arrived central and eastern European migrants have settled within five of Bradford's most deprived communities, which have high percentages of 'settled' ethnic minorities.
"There are problems of local cultures clashing and major misunderstandings of each other's backgrounds and ways of living."

In UK English:
Asian = Pakistani Muslims
They are breaking windows because if they try anything against the Poles, they will have their skulls cracked. On average, Poles are big and not afraid of Paki punks.
In the UK, Asians = Pakistanis, Indians, Middle Easterners.
I believe Japanese, Koreans, etc. are called Orientals there, but I don’t know for sure.
THE POLE AXE!!!!
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
The Poles saved Europe from Islam once before, maybe they’ll do it again.
Who was that gangster from “The Usual Suspects”? Carnin Sesa or something like that?
I’ve even seen this in the midwest too. The russians, ukrains, lithuanians, etc don’t take crap from anyone apparently. When I go into a low rent apartment and a pink faced white haired polish-russian-ish eastern european guy gets on the elevator, the indians and pakistanis and chinese start to tremble.
Do you mean Keyser Söze?
I was going to say the same thing. The Pakis had best play nice. These are the sons of Jan Sobieski we’re talking about. I’ll back them in a fight with the Mahometan savages any day.
Dats da guy. Thanks.
That’s a Turkish name, btw.
Keyser was a pretty common Polish name amongst the DP's I met as a child (Busha was from south of Gdansk). In watching the movie, I thought it was a Polish gangster, not Turk. Was he Turk in the movie?
Yes, he was a Turk in the movie. The name Söze comes from the Turkish word sözel, which means “verbal”. That ties into Verbal Kint’s name in the movie, which was a big clue for Turkish speakers. Get it? :)
The best idea yet - give them logistical support.
Yes, thanks. Sorry for digressing on your thread.
Pfft, digressing is fun!
It could be called The Sobieski Sanction.
