In a stunning upset victory, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton beat Sen. Barack Obama in Tuesday's Democratic presidential primary election in New Hampshire.
The Battleaxe may have ‘won’ New Hampshire, but in no way a landslide, and she was beaten in Iowa. There is nearly a year’s worth of primaries ahead. A lot will transpire with the economy/banking/housing and internationally, in case, the flash points of Iran, Pakistan & Russia for instance, issues of danger to the free world, which should benefit the GOP - not the leftist, appeasing Dems.
You said it and you’d be appalled at the people who actually liked Bill as president and would actually vote for her just because they want Bill back. Like I said, they are corrupt.
Liberal New Englanders are crypto-racists? Who knew??
That, plus the oldster Social Security vote appears to have saved Ms. Rodham’s very ample ‘bacon’.
Clinton-Obama could be a dangerous combination ....
The thing that is so discouraging about the Clintons is that, while they are ageing like the rest of us - there does not seem to be any way they will just go away and shut up any time soon. . and then, when and if they ever do, there’s always Chelsea who is also blessed with the Clinton corpuscles . . you know, special, unlike the rest of us mere mortals . . If this country has come to the sad place where it deserves another round of those two, then we are further down the drain than I feared . . So sad for the military, though . .
They say they are voting for Bill. Do not underestimate those thugs.
Algore should take lessons...
It cannot be said often enough. Hillary CRIED because running for president is so hard!! She CRIED because running for president is so hard.
The White Liberals did the same thing to Doug Wilder in Virginia if I recall. He was up by like 20% and only won by a few percentage points. Somebody from Va might be able to back me up on this?
AP reports: polling place interviews showed that female voters who deserted her last week were solidly in her New Hampshire column.
She also was winning handily among registered Democrats. Obama led her by an even larger margin among independents, but he suffered from a falloff in turnout among young voters compared with Iowa.
Times have changed. Losing his composure in New Hampshire was fatal to Ed Muskie. And it's not just a difference between men and women; Pat Schroeder also took a PR hit when she teared up while announcing she would not run for president.
Even George W. Bush teared up during a ceremony for Cpl. Jason Dunham, who was granted the Medal of Honor posthumously. His tears were remarked upon, but it wasn't a big deal and didn't seem to hurt him any.
The kind of emotional display that used to be seen as a sign of weekness is now just as likely to be seen as a sign of compassion and humanity. I think that's a change both for better and worse.
Despite the talk-radio spin, I think that appearance yesterday was a good move for Sen. Clinton -- not because she got a bit misty-eyed and choked up, but because she spoke in a quiet, warm, almost motherly tone. Comparing that appearance to the speech airing right now, there is definitely a conscious effort to change the pitch of her voice, to put the "shrillary" image to bed.
You know there is fraud somewhere. If the candidate they are against doesn’t get enough of a lead, they will make their way to them any way they can. There’s a lot of dirty politics going on. The Clintoons are the masters at it. They are just nasty, wicked people who should not be given power.
You can say that again!
Hardly stunning from a state that gave AlGorp 49% back in 2000. I call this an overwhelming victory for Obama...........
When asked almost any policy question in detail he can easily be shown to be a doofus.
Hitlery is dangerous and diabolical. This weeks shenanigans proves it.
YUK. I wish the "magic negro" had won NH.
Several things do NOT add up. The long lines for the Obama events. Hillary had to bus people in from NY and MA for her events. The highest turnout ever in NH...aagghhhh...... I could go on but I might puke!!!!!
Go Fred Go!!!
I wonder if the media hyped the “Obama surge” to get the result you described. They want a horse race. Keeps people watching the tube.
Running a "positive" campaign based on hope will not beat Hillary. Veiled allusions to the past won't get the job done, either.
He has to go for corruption, extreme leftism, and lack of any meaningful accomplishments in her 35-year "career", or else she will crush him.
“They are just nasty, wicked people who should not be given power.”
When they aren’t given power they simply take it - as all of us here already know. I will give Hillary the fake cry was brilliant. She got all those chick votes back. I bet it was Bill’s idea - he does know female Democratic voters.
Dude I am a big Fred head but he hasn’t shown the will to win.. If he can get over 10% of the vote in one of the primary states then maybe he will give me some more confidence. Till then I am not sure who to vote for!
My wife told me some years ago, "There's nothin' a cryin' broad can't do ... remember that."
The occasion for this admonition was a scene in an old Seahunt rerun where some guy living in a shack in Mexico with his Mexican girlfriend gets roped into doing the wrong thing by this tactic. I was quite surprised that my wife would draw such a sweeping conclusion from such a thin dramatic premise, but I was like, "OK! Important safety tip!"
