There is a teacher/student case from PA that has been posted and updated over the last few days here. In that case the teacher is a female (26) the student is a male (14). The majority opinion has pretty much been "atta boy!" and "where were these kind of teachers when I was a kid?" and "she's not bad looking, NOT GUILTY" If I were to ping some of those posters, I wonder if they'd have the same type of reactions.

You must understand... the jasoncann naughtteacher ping list is a lot about sarcasm... I think the orgins of the "guilty" / "not guilty" verdicts stem from the Debra LaFave story... One of the biggest issues most people have on freerepublic, is they can't tell when someone turns on or off the sarcasm button...

I can understand the sarcasm, and I got the LaFave slant as far as "if she's pretty enough, she'll beat the rap"

The ones that get me are the "I can't see him as a victim" posts or "if it were my daughter I'd beat the teacher to death, but my son gets an award..., well girls can get pregnant..." A child is a child and deserves to be protected, regardless of gender, and when an adult makes sexual advances on a child, it's abuse whether the child thinks they enjoyed it or not.

Trust me when I say being introduced to sex before one is ready as a child doesn't necessarily equate to the experience to be that much farther ahead in the game when adolescence and adulthood kick in.
