Thompson will endorse McCain after SC, not Romney. They are old friends. Wish you were correct and that Fred would endorse Romney, but that ain’t gonna happen.
The sad thing is with Thompson is that if he had entered much earlier - he would almost certainly have been the candidate.
I think that is a great shame. The whole will he/won’t he and then the wait for the inevatable detracted from what would have been his push to the top of the polls.
Whoever was calling the shots on his behalf really is an absolute disgrace.
(and for the record, I am not personally backing Fred although I would have had absolutely no problem supporting him should he win the nomination although I think it is highly unlikely now).
