OK, I’m confused now. If the critical items aren’t really smears and are some sort of legitimate comments, then why does the campaign denounce them as being written by a ghost writer that Paul had no control over? If they are just taken out of context or are just PC police going nuts, shouldn’t they be proud of them and use them as an opportunity to educate people about PC issues?

I don't think this story will go anywhere, because
1) Ron Paul hasn't a snow balls chance in hell of winning
2) Nobody is taking him seriously anyway
Sadly, we may have to endure this madness for another month.

I’m speaking not so much about this specific allegation, but more generally. It’s just an observation; I could be wrong.
It’s just that so much energy seems to be expended in attacking a supposedly peripheral candidate, that it kind of makes me suspicous of where this stuff is ultimately coming from.
I mean, why isn’t anyone going absolutely nuts over McCain’s statement that he would keep us in Iraq for a hundred years? That’s as “out there” as anything Paul has said (who, at times, can be pretty “out there”).

I didn't write it and didn't know about it worked when one article was at issue back in his Senate campaign.
That he didn't write his own newsletter which he sold for over a decade, that only passes the koolaid drinker test, nothing else.
Imagine John Kerry excusing his flipflops with that wasn't me, the speechwriter said it.
He's a racist, his campaign and supporters simply need to embrace that. Haters vote and send money too.
The GOP needs to throw the garbage out.
