WASHINGTON (AP) - Two U.S. Navy fighter jets plunged into the Persian Gulf Monday, after what initial reports suggest was a mid-air collision, a defense official said.
All three pilots ejected safely from the planes and were headed back to the USS Harry Truman, the aircraft carrier they were operating from, according to the official, who requested anonymity because the information was preliminary and not yet released publicly. No other details or the crash were released.
One of the F-18 jets that crashed held two pilots, the other held just one.
The crash occurred at about 1 p.m. EST.
Not related to the Iranian challenge a couple hours earlier. Nope, not at all.
A mid-air collision, or was it? Time will tell.
This could be important given the events reported earlier in the region.
I’m sure there was a crash, yes, but I really wonder if this is exactly what happened...
Not related to the Iranian challenge a couple hours earlier. Nope, not at all.
I would imagine the increase in air traffic due to the Iranian actions could have lead to a midair collision, but I doubt those underutilized 7-11ers could have simultaneously shot down two f-18s from their rowboats.
Two F-18’s dodging SAM’s, end up hitting each other ????
A ‘cannonball over the bow’ that is being kept quiet for now ???
How many bets on how the DUmmies will say this is all an election-cycle set-up by US...?

ARABIAN GULF Teams from USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) rescued all three aviators after two F/A-18 Super Hornets crashed during operations in the Arabian Gulf Jan. 7.
The three aviators are safely back aboard the aircraft carrier, and are reported in good condition following an ejection.
The aircraft, from Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW 3), were providing en route close air support from Iraq when they crashed. CVW-3 is currently deployed to the Arabian Gulf with the Truman Carrier Strike Group.
The Truman Strike Group is part of a routine presence of U.S. warships to the region, and its operations are focused on demonstrating an ongoing commitment to security and stability. U.S. forces maintain a naval and air presence in the area to deter destabilizing activities, while safeguarding the regions vital links to the global economy.
CVW-3 consists of Strike Fighter Squadrons VFA-11, VFA-32, VFA-37 and VFA-105; Tactical Electronics Warfare Squadron VAQ-130; Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron VAW-126; and Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron HS-7.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Why is it, that we believe the news about the ME that we like to hear, but question the validity of news we don’t like to hear?
Because we are human???
“Why is it, that we believe the news about the ME that we like to hear, but question the validity of news we dont like to hear?”
Because we like the truth, and we don’t like lies.
we're doing what the regular media does?
What we like to hear, is always the truth?
It’s good to get raw news, before the press gets a chance to spin it
so according to this article the “accident” is still under investigation????
Folks, we are either right in the beginnings of a shooting war or one big fat set of coincidental circumstances. Either way, i can imagine, our boys aren girls over in the PG are dialed up right now
Two planes, three pilots. Glad they specified that they were split one and two, otherwise I'd have thought they were all three in the one plane.
This ‘official” who gave out this information needs to be arrested and put in the brig. It has not been released for a reason. At the very least, our enemies know we are short two aircraft in a war zone.
This kind of crap makes my blood boil. They need to start finding these people and throwing their ass in jail!!!!!
It’s on the front page of the U.S. 5th Fleet official website...
Two aircraft is a small percentage of the air assests in the middle east. It would be public knowledge in a few hours at the very least.
Even the Iranians have enough intelligence info to figure out we lost aircraft due to the increased activity and radio traffic.
