On one of the warmest January days in decades, Vera Rogers headed to church Sunday in search of religion, solace and, well, mink.
The foster mother from Chicago's South Side joined more than nine dozen people vying for one of the free fur coats, made of everything from beaver to sable, that were given away to seniors at the Beloved Community Christian Church in Englewood.

I'd rather see a headline that read, "The pure, unadulterated, Gospel of Christ draws crowds to His church despite _____________."
And, comments such as....
"I'd still have been here to hear His word, and to worship Him this Sunday, just like every other Lord's Day, despite the weather."
Sad thing is that more and more "churches" use all kinds of gimmicks to draw a crowd, and fewer and fewer of them preach the unadulterated Gospel of Christ once they "draw the crowd" to them.
Apparently he’s a furrier posing as a pastor - perhaps confused the two roles.
I wonder how many of the recipients realize they have to pay income taxes to the feds on the retail value of their booty?
Everytime I hear this guy’s name, I mistake him for that gangsta rap style blues singer profiled on that PBS series from a few years ago, The Blues. He doesn’t rap, but he’s as crude as one of those crappers.
How do you feel about China/Korea making coats and nic nacs out of dog and cat fur?
Now thats pretty low budget.
At least they could give us Fox and Coon and Mink coats.
But alas. What would Wal Mart sell?
