How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Start Loving Obama
The American Thinker ^ | 7 January 2008 | Randall Hoven

Posted on 01/07/2008 4:29:49 AM PST by wgflyer

If Republicans, candidates and base alike, cannot pull themselves out of the funk in which they find themselves, it soon will be time to start making the best of a bad situation. Some truly believe the GOP blew its big chance, their first and best chance in about 50 years. They think it might be better, even for Republicans, to see how a Barack Obama might do in office and for Republicans to join the Miami Dolphins and the St. Louis Rams in putting this season behind them and trying to salvage next season.

Yea, let’s put an empty suit liberal in office who has zero experience.

That's not the first argument I would make against Obama. He has far more experience than GWB had when he ran in 2000.

“....in all fairness it leaves out some of the good things Bush did.”

Yes, it did leave out a few things, but.... In all fairness, people don’t talk much about the great roads Hitler built, either.

“Yes, let’s elect a leftist who ‘seems’ like a likeable, nice guy.”

No. Let’s don’t. But let’s don’t elect liberal big government Republicans, either.

“I’m afraid a nation can become so full of Hyphenated-Americans that who we are and where we’ve been can quickly and radically become nothing....”

We’re virtually there. Look at the “big four” candidates the GOP is touting....they’re PC liberals.

Better read Obama’s history before you decide this.

Read about what his family is doing over in Kenya. Burning a church with 50 people inside. Hacking 600 innocents to death. All at the command of Obama's FIRST COUSIN. And he has nothing to say about it.

Thanks for the link.

But.... I’m not much impressed with the enthusiasm that my fellow conservatives put into the abortion argument, mainly because abortion is a symptom of a sick society and the focus on abortion obscures other avenues that we should be focusing on to first reduce and then virtually halt the practice later on down the line.

You cure the sickness by destroying the disease...liberalism...not by putting a band aid on the canker...abortion.

keep blowing smoke in Obama’s sails. He is a fataly flawed candidate that looks like a child.

I don’t think that the article so much blows smoke in Obama’s sails as it points out how screwed up the GOP has become. We really have to stop voting in liberals just because a bigger liberal might win if we don’t.

We need articulate people who can state the conservative case.

Very true. Wish there was one.

“BTW, I heard this weekend that Edwards has had some issues with showing up ontime to his campaign rallies. A wit suggested that someone park an ambulance out front of the rally...would ensure that he’d show up on time. LOL!”

Heh! Heh!

All we need, really, is a conservative president with the leadership qualities to not only appoint constitutionally literate judges but run the populist idiots off the bench. Judges, I believe, can be impeached.

“Other than that, we are dealing with a very likeable candidate in an highly charged, divided political environment where dull bulbs like Gore and Kerry nearly pulled it off. Does his likabilty win more votes than his liberal views and complete inexperience lose votes.”

A very likeable muslim extremist who turns his back on our flag...well, the lunacy of the American electorate can never be underestimated, if our current state of being as a nation is any guide.

HMPH. I happened to be in Barnes and Nobles earlier today. Racks of magazines at the checkout counter. A Newsweek with a smiling Obama- that callow, shallow boy who thinks he’s running for student body president. Just a few down was the grim, steely-eyed, unsmiling visage of Putin. I started to laugh at the contrast, then was suddenly afraid, very afraid. In a life and death confrontation, which of these men would win? Wanna lay bets, anyone?

You hit the nail on the head regarding my exact fears of an Obama presidency. He is all style and zero substance, and would be a disaster. This world is more dangerous than ever before, and we need a real leader to guide us through the rough waters. Obama could never be that person.

Yep, and he is Muslim and then not Muslim. If you do not think that those Mussies could not create a slick talker to take the US through the back door claiming blackness and “let’s all get along mantra” I think all those starry eyed supporters need to listen up. I am not saying this is a fact; I am saying it’s cause for concern and no vote for him for me. Those folks have studied our culture and know the way to win the liberals over; the popular folks will win they think! I am surprised that John Kerry did not even bother to google this info before giving his support.

Ok. Guess we’ll have to win without you. The same people who said GHW Bush “wouldn’t get their vote,” in essence voted for Clinton, and got him.
