How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Start Loving Obama
The American Thinker ^ | 7 January 2008 | Randall Hoven

If Republicans, candidates and base alike, cannot pull themselves out of the funk in which they find themselves, it soon will be time to start making the best of a bad situation. Some truly believe the GOP blew its big chance, their first and best chance in about 50 years. They think it might be better, even for Republicans, to see how a Barack Obama might do in office and for Republicans to join the Miami Dolphins and the St. Louis Rams in putting this season behind them and trying to salvage next season.

You want to hear something funny? Duncan got a delegate Saturday in Wyoming. McCain and Guiliani still don’t have a delegate. :)

Hopefully the laugh will be on the socialist media.

You ought to go the link in #13.

There is some pretty revealing stuff about Obama. He may really be the "Manchurian" of Islam.

Bush's SC appointments were the primary reason most of my Republican friends supported him in '04. You're absolutely right on that score.

Please note that I said "supported Bush". There are plenty of people out there - admittedly of which I'm one - that voted against Kerry.

I'm not Bush's biggest fan; I'd say that he's been an adequate president but not a great one. The tone-deafness of his administration on immigration was, IMHO, the biggest cause of Republican losses in '06.

Contrary to popular opinion, his handling of the war has been pretty good, I think. At least as good as can be expected with 1/2 the country and all of the MSM calling for his head. The way he handled the SC appointments was excellent. And, he came through on his '00 promise to lower taxes. I liked that.

Also - you're right...it's time to move on.

If Dems make the mistake of running against Bush in '08, that'll be their downfall. It's the same mistake that Republicans made in '00 with Clinton, and that election was too close to call.

That thought's been rolling around in my brain.

What with Huma, all the bases are pretty much covered.

Holy moley. Obama supporting Islamic radicals and Sharia Law in Kenya. Is this because he’s one of them or is he just an O-Bambi?

With the risk of sounding pessimistic, isn’t that just preaching to the choir. How to get the word out to the idiot masses? That is my main concern.

I recall the first time I heard Obama speak, it was a sound bite and I remember being impressed. Then, the convention. Without a doubt, Obama has charisma and that my friend is what is dangerous about him. He really scares me more than Hillary

Here are the only positives about Obama getting the nomination:

- End of the Clinton years
- End of the reign of the poverty pimps on the left - Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton’s racist ideas are discounted.

Other than that, we are dealing with a very likeable candidate in an highly charged, divided political environment where dull bulbs like Gore and Kerry nearly pulled it off. Does his likabilty win more votes than his liberal views and complete inexperience lose votes.

That info is excellent, thank you.

There was another freeper who did a good job exposing how his votes are always sensitive towards islamic causes.

Here is the problem: liberals will say so what if his a muslim. They don’t care because this idiot says he supports change. REcall, that Hitler also said he offered change and the liberals in Germany also bought it. Liberalism makes people stupid.

“With Judge appointments alone the damage a Democrat would do to the next 30 years of Conservatism would be enormous and irreversiable.”

Maybe, but conservatism is equally neutered by liberal, big government Republicans. What I see out there on our side are 4 big government liberal Republicans and two conservatives being minimized by their own party.

Better read Obama’s history before you decide this.

I didn’t write the article....but the guy makes some good points about the Republican party.

I’m a Hunter guy. I’ll vote for Thompson in the main election if he’s the guy, but I won’t vote for any of the other 4, nor will I ever vote democrat.

...ANY Republican is still better than ANY Democrat, including Obama.”

Sigh, I used to think like that. I recognize a big government liberal Republican when I see one, and there are 4 of them on this year’s campaign trail. Neither will get my vote. Nor will a Democrat...ever...but I will no longer even help to put in a liberal Republican just because he’s not as bad as a liberal Democrat.

Hunter ‘08!
