Republican Presidential Candidate Debate #14 Milford, New Hampshire 01/06/08 - Official Discussion Thread
Fox News Channel; Roundtable format
Candidates the gatekeepers are allowing to participating:
I think, judging by his posting history, it’s just that he (the poster) is a pragmatist— pick one that will have the best shot at winning.
Personally— I think it’s a horrible idea.
I doubt Fred would play second fiddle to a lying liberal from Massachusetts.
I wish one of the candidates would nail McCain on that McCain/Feingold garbage
I agree, a lot of criticism towards Fred is based on how he looks and campaigns. Also, a lot of venom directed towards McCain and his age. However, that stuff isn’t necessarily off the table either. Looked what happened to Nixon in ‘60.
Sadly a significant portion of the people do partially base a vote on looks/appearance.
TOO MANY!! Not Romney is talking change change change. Arghh.
Freds got conservative power, that’s why he remains calm.
Always good to see you.
Was going to do a live Mystery Science Theater thing over this, but now the Pubbies actually answer the questions so it takes the joy out of it.
I have taken to not watching debates but just following these threads. It is amusing and useful because the names of the various candidates’ advocates are familiar so you know which comments are praising someone else and which are criticizing his or her own candidate.
That said, “The sooner Fred gets out the better” . . . nah, it is a trial by fire. People drop out when they can’t compete any longer. Everyone gets their shot, or it’s not a trial by fire.
Fred seems old and slow. If that’s what you want in a President, then yeah, he’s Presidential.
No Fred with Rudy as the VP would be the winning ticket.
McCain is now giving his subject, verb and surge.
Watch how everyone else looks at Fred like he’s their father. Especially Romney! Just pay attention.
But what Romney doesn’t realize is this Washington outsider strategy didn’t work for Bush. He ran on being an outsider and won, but didn’t do much to change DC.
It's freestyle. Follow your bliss!
Mitt and McCain are going to make me drunk by the time this is over. These guys will drive you to drinkin’.
Hey, McCain is saying “change” now... it’s catching on...w00t!!
And he’s very proud of change.
Or... something.
Fred is my top choice, but the momentum is not going his way. I’m just trying to be pragmatic.
If Fox News could have pulled it off they wouldn't have included Fred in this debate...
