For objectivity’s sake I am a big Thompson fan. He is my guy.

That being said, it is my perception that he did the most for his campaign out of all the candidates.

There is one thing I wish he would do though, on the Immigration issue, he should be emphasizing every time this issue comes up in the clearest and simplest terms possible that his plan’s emphasis is on self-deportation. Make it impossible for illegal aliens to work and they will self deport.

I agree.

The pundits say 12 million cannot be deported.

I know that number is grossly underestimated.

They managed to get here, they can manage to get back.

Do it by themselves, or get get some state or federal help.

It can be done.

Only then, should they apply for legal immigration, behind those who have already applied and are waiting who have not broken the the law by slipping in here.

It seems simple to me.

This is the ONLY solution to the whole mess I've yet heard that is doable - they will 'self-deport' and others wont bother to head this way. Sanest and simplest Solution: "SSS"

Unfortunately, I think this was the worst part last night for Fred. When Charlie Gibson asked Fred what he thought, it was almost like Fred wasn’t ready for an answer. He didn’t answer as strongly as he normally would. We all knew what he would say.. but he didn’t say it well. If a viewer didn’t already know his position on this, then after his answer, they still didn’t because his response was not clear.

He has said that from the beginning! And every time I've heard him talk about the issue at rallies, he pushes that notion. He knows that having many self-deport will make it easier to deal with the ones who are left.
