The Thompson “flip-flop” on the FairTax is weak sauce.
Fred has a long record of supporting a simplified flat income tax, and has never favored a national sales tax.
Fred either misheard the question or more likely was responding to someone else entirely.

It’s an insult to everyone’s intelligence here to peddle that crap.

The point is I can google Fred Thompson flip flops and find them and post them ad nauseam. I can google every candidate with “flip-flop” and find flip flops ad nauseam. The “flip-flop” argument is worn out on all candidates. What do they stand for and do I trust them? I will vote for Fred Thompson should he the Republican nominee for president. I will vote for Romney or even Guiliani, maybe McCain (I’d have to think long and hard on that and probably couldn’t for him in the end). I could vote for Hunter. I will never vote for Huckabee.
