"The logic that convinces us that evolution is a fact is the same logic we use to say smoking is hazardous to your health or we have serious energy policy issues because of global warming," University of Michigan professor Gilbert Omenn told reportersSo... you're trying to make the case for creationism, or what?

I bet that the first 20 presidents of the United States believed that G*D created. It is hard to believe that a real scientist would peddle such a ridiculous message of doom.

Well, Professor, you believe in anthropogenic global warming, which is your anti-science religion.
The main difference between you and Huck is that he's not proposing to throw the world economy into a depression for the sake of his faith.

US 'doomed' if creationist president elected: - do they mean like the first 43 Presidents?

"The logic that convinces us that evolution is a fact is the same logic we use to say smoking is hazardous to your health or we have serious energy policy issues because of global warming," University of Michigan professor Gilbert Omenn If this guy is stupid enough to fall for Global Warming then he has no business arguing about logic.

A poll conducted last year showed that two-thirds of Americans believe in creationism, or the theory that God created humans at a single point in time, while 53 percent believe that humans developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life -- the theory of evolution. 66 percent plus 53 percent = 119%. Journalists are our superiors.
Research scientists, or their spokesmen anyway, make bad political scientists. It's perfectly possible for a young-earth creationist to love big, juicy science budgets.
If Huck will fund human genome research, medical research, and geologic exploration the scientific establishment will do just fine. As a politician, he'll favor what works even if he doesn't understand or accept the present scientific models.

And what’s this “superstition” you are referring to?

I think Albert Einstein said it very well :
"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind".

University of Michigan professor Gilbert Omenn I'm an evolutionist, but who could ever think this guy is more important than the electorate of Iowa or the USA?
Every President since Washington has expressed belief in a higher spiritual power. This Prof. sounds like a real maroon.

Any science needs no one to subscribe to their beliefs, yet the actor in this story pretty much expresses that evolution, second hand smoke, and global warming are all not supported by science fact. These are theories.
Sorry, Charlie, a lot of people don’t have to support your list of theories to be a good president - actually, the more they question those theories, perhaps the better they’d be as president.

And so it begins.......we will now be mired in religious and theology debates.

Exactly, exactly, and exactly. I have serious concerns about anyone who runs for office who can’t distinguish between an article of faith and the scientific method, and is therefore unable to distinguish between a belief and a theory. Egads.

The science elites have announced our doom many times now. The emperor is wearing no clothes.
A president who believes God created the world will not harm us one iota.
