PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Police are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with an assault on a Geno's Steaks employee just two days after Christmas.
Surveillance video shows the suspects at the world-famous cheesesteak shop in South Philadelphia in the early morning hours of December 27.
Police said the unidentified males reportedly were verbally harassing a female employee at about 6:30 a.m.
A 32-year-old male employee, who was outside power-washing, tried to intervene when the suspects turned their attention to him.
Following a brief argument, one of the males allegedly picked up the employee up and flipped him onto the concrete.
Authorities said the employee struck his head and was knocked unconscious. He suffered several broken bones, a fractured vertebra and loss of hearing as a result of the altercation.
"For someone to pick someone up and throw them on their head, in my opinion, he tried to kill that kid and I think he should definitely go to jail," Geno's manager Joe Perno said.
The two suspects were captured on surveillance video at the counter of Geno's.
The first suspect is described as a white male, 18-25 years old, 5'8"-5'10", with brown hair, wearing a brown coat, and dark pants. The second suspect is described as a white male, 18-25 years old, 5'10"-6'0", with brown hair, and was wearing glasses, a light colored baseball hat and a yellow/white/tan coat.
The assaulted employee has since been released from the hospital but is said to be suffering from blackouts and dizziness.
Geno's owner Joey Vento said he is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest in the assault.
If you have any information, please call police at 215-686-3013.

Maybe they were upset at the “This is America. When Ordering, Please Speak English.” sign in the window.
Who eats cheese steaks at 6:30 AM on a Thursday morning...?
Pat’s King of Steaks is better anyway...
Obviously college or high school punks off for Christmas vacation or semester break. Those two guys don't look very old. I hope they're caught.
You're assuming they can read.
It would be sweet if the mother of one of the boys turned them in.
Seems like they were partying all night and got hungry after a long night of drinking.
I figured Gino’s had “insurance” against this kind of thing. South Philly “insurance.”
Neither one these two do not look like they can pick up a bad of habit much less another person and flip them.
If there I would.
and/or drugging.
Those are pretty clear shots and distinctive clothing. Somebody's going to have a payday soon.
The pictures nearly guarantee that someone will take care of this “South Philly style.”
Never watched "The Sopranos"?
Can’t say that I have.
CBS 3 says they were upset because of the sign.
Does that mean the Human Relations Commission has created a hate crime with its hate speech concerning Geno’s.
when these guys are caught, want to bet they are libs...
