The Politico hit piece hurt Fred tonight. It may have cost him a strong third place finish. The real shame is the number of so-called reputable news organizations who have run with the story.

I agree. Seems we got a lot of folks interested in having Bozo the Clown/Brad Pitt/Robin Williams to be their leader. A few years, perhaps a decade from now, someone like Britney Spears/Paris Hilton will be leading this country... Point being, substance, message, values, morales, and conservative values alike mean nothing.
Fred has the ability to rejuvinate and reunite the conservative wing of the Republican party. We held politicians accountable for their actions from 2000 until Nov. of 2006, when the liberals and Rinos acted in concert to bridle the conservative wing of the Republican party by knocking out Tom DeLay, and putting conservatives on the run, with the help of so called Republicans like McCain. The ruined the agenda on illegal aliens, the senate refusing to conference on the house legislation, but offering their own sell out substitute.
Without the conservative wing of the party the "progressive" Republicans and Liberals will be free to turn the USA into a multi cultural "pluralistic" society like Canada, and socialize the nation even more than now, and devolve further our individual constitutional rights by appointing liberal judges to the SCOTUS.
Thats why they are afraid of Thompson, and also of Duncan Hunter.
