I thought the time was right to start up a live thread for results and comments about tonight, so here we are!
I’m sorry, but I’m a man who has principles and I don’t back down. Give me liberty or give me death.
I must admit that in spite of having Fox news on 24/7, I have not been of the impression that they have been non-stop hostile towards Fred. Fred could have said and done things that would have put him higher up in this glaring spotlight, and he failed to do so. That’s terribly unfortunate. But I lay the blame where I feel it should be...and that is at the feet of Fred’s campaign, or lack thereof.
Looking back at "top tier" Dean's dismal third place showing in the 2004 Iowa caucus, Fred's campaign is looking more and more to be in the same situtation every day.
It will be Huckabee's chore to cut through the flack and friendly fire, to tell conservatives as well as the rest, what he's really about.
Doing this, I think he'll have all the help he needs.
But conservatives need to get off the Limbaugh-enforced notion that there is virtually no need for a check or balance to any businesses whatsoever (not even multi-national, China-supporting, illegal-employing, slave-driving businesses?)
Conservative Republicans, including many a FReeper need to remember that this is the GOP of Lincoln, Arthur, McKinley, and T.R.
Bully!
Everybody tune in -- Huckabee's speaking now!
And thank God for Rush Limbaugh for what he said about being conservative and I agree with Rush, Huckabee is NOT a conservative.
NOOOOOO!!! Don't do it! Ahhh my eyes..
(I wonder if she knows were that mouth has been...)
Doesn’t work here.... sorry... Christians are told to “discriminate” — definitely in the Bible...
Huckster up...that wasn’t the theme from Monty Python, was it??
Democratic caucus-goers participate and Caucus precinct chairman Greg Nichols (C) calls the caucus to order with a Hillary Clinton campaign provided megaphone in the Iowa caucus 212th precinct of West Des Moines at Valley High School in Iowa January 3, 2008. In first tally of caucus-goers in this precinct, Barack Obama won the first poll by 151 to Hillary Clinton's 86 to John Edwards' 67 votes. REUTERS/Jim Bourg (UNITED STATES)
My my.... get that guy a toupe fast!!!!
Huckles kiss some a$$ saying he LOVES Iowa as much as his home state Arkansas. And I thought Romney was a phony...
McCain would NOT pick conservative judges, which is the only way we’ll see Roe vs. Wade overturned. He also was WRONG on Iraq - he argued for, I think, 250,000 troops...without providing them (we need a bigger Army) and not thinking about how to use them. What made the surge work wasn’t the numbers, but how they were used - outside the FOBs.
A McCain presidency, even if he were sane, would be a disaster for conservatives.
And the 20 million Mexicans who became Americans would keep us in a socialist rut for generations!
Sorry. I will never vote for a man who slanders those who believe immigration laws should be enforced.
Actually used to be a big fan. Was pulling for him in 2000.
No mas.
I’m going to write in Duncan
:)
Read an interesting post from another web site:
I’m a recovering Fundamentalist Christian. It was the only religion I ever belonged to that contained faith assassination as part of it’s doctrine. As a youth, I was taught who to spiritually destroy and how God wants them ended. It was a good fit for me. I could pretend Jesus had healed my self loathing while I nurtured it targeting others for their beliefs. There’s a lot of power experienced in setting out to ruin people through the glory and gifts of God. It really is a rush. All the guilt that I should have experienced hurting others was pushed somewhere else. Since it was all about God’s will for me, there wasn’t any self examination about it. I found no end to the number of independent Bible study groups/courses. There is a constant telling of how to interpret this passage or that one. Looking back, it’s as if there were this ever present fear of someone learning the Bible in a vacuum, with only the Holy Ghost as a guide. It should be said that it wasn’t just one church. It was churches, summer bible camps, Fishnet and VBS, traveling road shows,... It wasn’t everywhere I worshiped. But at the places I would now peg as Fundie, our constant companion was a doctrine of adversity; sometimes as an occasional subtle reminder, sometimes as a direct and powerful lesson. Always some kind of push to “discredit, undermine, target, trap them here, trip them there, you know what they believe - not them....” I don’t think anyone went to a worship or a show or a study, expecting an assignation seminar, but there was usually something. Fast forward twenty plus years and I sometimes wish there were some sort of deprogramming to help me on my return to spiritual health. Christ is my healer but it was my relationship with him that was affected. But through God’s Love and by Christ’s Atonement I slowly become the Christian God intended for me to be all along. I’m still learning that God will forgive me for misusing His Word, His gifts to me and His name in trying to hurt the people I was taught to, because of their faith in Him. sigh. Some days it’s a long road when I reminisce. I’m so grateful my kids are above what I was. HK

Fox says Chris Dodd just dropped out of the race
I had to check to make sure he was really running.
Oh no.........the Huckster is up now. I can’t stand it!
I agree that Thompson doesn't stand a snowball's chance in heck of winning the Republican nomination, but I highly doubt that FR will support McCain. The owner of this forum made it clear a long time ago that he felt McCain was a traitor.
Jethro Bodine, our next president, introducing the children.
Chuck Norris for Secretary of Defense!!!!
