The only way Huck and his family are getting into the White House is with a visitors pass on a guided tour like the rest of us.

It seems to be settling down. Huckabee won convincingly, but he’ll lose NH, and probably Michigan & Nevada. Probably second in SC and Florida.

Romney did pee-poor for all his effort. He’ll probably lose NH, do OK in Michigan and Nevada - but losing Iowa & NH will be very hard on his chances. You don’t spend the money he did & build the organization he did and then come in a weak second in a caucus state.

Thompson finishing a weak third...maybe fourth...is a serious sestback. By Florida & SC, will anyone remember he is running?

McCain did very well for a state where he made no effort. He’s likely to win NH, and the media love him. Still, I can’t believe he’ll get over 25% in any republican primary.

Frankly, I don’t see a plausible path to victory for any of them. Brokered convention is sounding pretty good to me right now, since otherwise we’re likely to have Rudy, McCain, Mitt or Huckabee as a nominee - and two of them I won’t vote for, and two more I might not.

Dang! What a sorry state of affairs.

I just got home and I am very depressed.

How can that many people be fooled by a conniving LIAR? Are people that stupid?

I so wanted to see something better for Thompson.

2012-Bobby Jindal

After reading his interview with El Rushbo in the Limbaugh Letter, he'd get my vote.

You asked — “Do you believe Thompson’s profession of faith.”

I listened to a campaign speech that Thompson gave from another poster who told me that this would clear up any concerns I had about Thompson and whether he was a Christian or not.

From what I saw and heard, I have to say that Thompson does not understand what the Gospel is, what the “good news” is, got it wrong when he talked about what that meant in his home town, and therefore, I have to conclude that Thompson is not a Christian, because he does not exhibit the basic understanding of what the criteria is for becoming a Christian. *If* he ever did say he was a Christian (which I haven’t heard), that’s just as good as Romney saying he is a Christian (which is false, as he belongs to a cult group who does not believe in the Jesus of the Bible and basic, historic and foundational Christianity).

And likewise, it doesn’t appear that Thompson knows the Jesus who brings salvation.

So, in short — no...

You’re a “laugh a minute”.... Who have they been organizing then (to get Huckabee that vote) the devil-worshipers and the cultists? LOL!

Glad you think so.

A few thousand Iowans do not impress me very much.

They went strong for Robertson in 1987.

Moreover, a very strange breed out there.

I was just at a Christian men's bible study tonight. Not ONE Huckster supporter out of 20 men.

I take it you don't like Christians very much from your posts, but this Christian doesn't like the Huckster.

I don't think he has that much support among evangelicals nationally.

We will find out - won't we?

My sentiments exactly. It is the second biggest story of the evening for Republicans. And even Brit Hume doesn’t know it!

Me, too. Hell, I might just write him in no matter who the candidate is.

“Huckabee’s goober vote will not go far beyond the tractor.”

You might be surprised how many people wait to see how others voted before deciding who to vote for. Winning in Iowa, especially if it can be backed up in New Hampshire, is huge. It’s one reason many would like to see a national primary day. A fluke win by a minor candidate can upset the entire election. As we all know, Kerry wasn’t even on the radar until he won the Iowa primary not even as people’s chosen candidate, but as their second choice candidate.
