Family leaders call Romney 'disaster'
World Net Daily ^ | 1/3/2008 | WorldNetDaily

A coalition of leaders on family issues has released a letter warning about what they describe as the deception being assembled around former Massachusetts governor and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

"Most of us are not allied with any presidential candidate," the letter says. "But we are troubled by the unethical and Orwellian cover-up of Mitt Romney's role in catastrophic events in Massachusetts, once the cradle of American liberty.

"Actions he took as governor were beyond the pale," the letter continued.

The letter cites seven issues seen as problematic in the Romney campaign, including a "phony pro-life 'conversion.'"

Romney displays what Peggy Noonan calls the difference between conservatives and Republicans, in my opinion.

Some Republicans are fine with compromising on certain social type issues.
Voters just need to decide what core values are important in a candidate.

I too was in Massachusetts when Romney ran a gallant campaign against Ted “Killer” Kennedy, and made old Teddy sweat it. NO one SINCE has even attempted it, easy to sit on the sidelines and do nothing and criticize. As the old saying goes.. ALL THAT IS NECESSARY FOR THE FORCES OF EVIL TO WIN, IS FOR GOOD MEN TO DO NOTHING.

At least Romney did something, Antoninus, what did you do , to get Kennedy out of the Senate?

He attempted it by trying to show the MA electorate that he was even more liberal than the Swimmer. Great strategy for a supposed conservative.

Much like his ill-fated run this year, Flip would have done better in 1994 to stay home and spend his money on something other than a quest for power.

Do you Remember the Race for the Senate, where Ted Kennedy sent a cardboard cut out of himself to debate his opposition?

If this were a democrat, than this would be an issue for my friend, but not in this case. He just excused this away.

Don't kid yourself, if "the dope from Hope" should get the nomination for Republicans( and conservative family values) this will be a BIG issue for the Democrats.

Do you remember the Race for the Senate where Ted Kennedy debated against a cardboard cutout of himself but kept referring to it as "Mr. Romney"?

I know it will - the "family values" candidate for the GOP letting his "son lynch dogs and using his influence to pardon him". What an field day! There you have animal cruelty, a violent racial inference, AND GOP corruption all in one headline - neatly wrapped up for the NY Slimes.

But no, my friend takes it personally that I bring up these negagtives as if I am attacking him.

The Gays don’t want don’t ask, don’t tell in the Boy Scouts.

They want, let us be openly gay.

When did Mitt flip on this one, or did he have a “Come to Jesus” moment?

THE 1994 CAMPAIGN: MASSACHUSETTS; Kennedy and Romney Meet, And the Rancor Flows Freely

Published: October 26, 1994

Mr. Kennedy, who is 62 years old, allowed Mr. Romney to seize the initiative during the summer and found himself in a dead heat by Labor Day. Mr. Romney, trim and darkly handsome at 47, was transformed from a little-known venture capitalist (albeit one with a famous name) into a David who might slay Goliath.

From the article: Signers include William Greene of RightMarch.com, Ted Baehr of the Christian Film and Television Commission, Linda Harvey of Mission America, Gary Glenn of American Family Association of Michigan, Michael Heath of Christian Civic League of Maine, Ray Neary of Pro-Life Massachusetts and others.

Other signers include John O'Gorman of Massachusetts Citizens for Life, Peter LaBarbera of Republicans for Family Values, Diane Gramley of American Family Association of Pennsylvania, John Haskins of The Parents' Rights Coalition, Gregg Jackson of the "Pundit Review," William Cotter of Operation Rescue Boston, Brian Camenker of MassResistance, Mark Charalambous of CPF-Father Coalition Massachusetts, Judge Ned Kirby, the former assistant minority leader in the Massachusetts Senate and Edgar Kelley, former assistant U.S. Attorney in Massachusetts.

More than a handful, I'd say.

I swear..I think the people of MA will believe anything a person says as long as they adorn certain clothes and tell their whoppers in proper English.

In case you hadn't noticed, Ted Kennedy is not going anywhere. People in MA think they owe it to him because of what happened to his brothers. You may remember that they also keep electing a notorious homosexual named Barney Frank, despite the fact that this individual had a minor running a gay brothel out of his apartment. It's a sickness up there. Plus, I don't live there anymore, so it's not my problem.

My immediate problem is keeping an slick opportunistic fraud like Flip Romney out of the White House. That WILL affect me.

I don’t live in Massachusetts now, and Ted “killer” Kennedy, and “John “loser” Kerry are not my senators, so I don’t have to live with the fact that Now a Democrat is in the Governor’s office, and there is no way to stop Gay marriages, or anyone to stand up for gun rights.
