Someone said a while ago the Politico was founded solely for the purpose of getting Hillary elected President.

"
DES MOINES, Iowa Several Republican officials close to Fred Thompsons presidential campaign said they expect the candidate will drop out of the race within days if he finishes poorly in Thursdays Iowa caucus."
I guess if they are officially Republicans and they are in Iowa they would be considered close.
Don't you just love the B/S that emanates from these "reporters"?

The whole idea is inconsistent with itself.
If he's not drawn to the position out of personal ambition and he thought Mclame was good enough to endorse, then he wouldn't have given up his good job and seeing his wife and family in the first place.
Fred's not dropping out and he's not endorsing Mclame.

“Fred was just on CNN with John Roberts. He said this was BS.”
Fred was on Hannity yesterday and showed nothing but confidence. I think if he’s in the top 3 - Fred stays in.

A Thompson endorsement of McCain would become a see I told you so moment for me.Next,
A Thompson dirty trick no.
Someone counteracting Rush's comments at going up to the line but not endorsing Fred, YES.
He said yesterday there is one conservative in the race, hmmmm I wonder who :-).
It could be Huck, Mitt or McCain to halt Fred and get back at Rush.
Stupid move on their part, Rush will still hammer them.

What drives me crazy is the talk that hell support McLame.
Why should that be a surprise. Even before he entered the race, many called him McCain-lite; many speculated about about a Thompson-McCain ticket. In 00, he supported McCain. He helped write and chaired the committee that produced McCain-Feingold, which originally McCain-Feingold-Thompson Campaign Fiance Reform.
Many thought Lieberman's endorsement of McCain was something spectacular. Why? Kerry and McCain are buddies. Lieberman was on the Kerry-Lieberman ticket in 04. Many even speculated about a Kerry-McCain ticket, and McCain admitted considering it. And there has been some speculation of McCain-Lieberman ticket.
Politics makes strange bedfellows. Always had; always will. Whatever it takes to try to win.

The media yesterday was on Full McCain mode. It was McCain this, McCain that on all the main stream news channels. This BS story is just part of the plan to push a beatable candidate to the top. Don’t fall for it. The Huckabee strategy was short lived - the MSM said time for plan B. - McCain.

I would bet money that Thompson is out before NH if he finishes fourth or worse tonight. I am also think when he drops out he will endorse McCain. Most of you are living in LaLa Land if you think Fred wants to do this any longer if he is embarrassed in Iowa. He is almost out of money. he has very little support in NH. He will have no momentum heading into SC and it is very unlikely he will win here. I wanted Fred to do well, but I am rational enough to know that his campaign is over and I would not be surprised if it is announced as early as tomorrow.

Fred must be showing some sparkle in the polls, causing the MSM to attempt to bury him.

I am not sure if he will pull out and support Mc Cain before NH, but if Mc Cain is succcessful in NH and possibly Michigan, I think that somewhere down the line Thompson will pull the plug and back Mc Cain.
To: rightwingintelligentsia
Why would anyone drop out after the Iowa retard caucus? It is so insignificant. Fred needs to hold on until this silly campaign moves to the South.
To: Mr Rogers
Also, no rational person would expect a Thompson endorsement of McCain to help McCain...probably 90% of Thompson supporters loath McCain, and would rather cut off their hand than vote for him.But what they are counting on is that Thompson voters loath Romney worse than McCain. Pumping up McCain right now before NH is all about defeating Romney.

Fred debunked it himself last night... This is a dirty trick from a rival campaign that wants to stop Fred’s surge in the polls.
Here’s what Fred said last night:
“Thompson also denied that he or anyone on his staff said he would drop out of the race before New Hampshire if he finished lower than fourth place tonight.
‘Absolutely totally made up, out of whole cloth,” he said of such reports.’
To: rightwingintelligentsia
Fred’s gonna be on Fox and Friends in the next segment to comment on this lie.
