It isn’t over yet - let’s at least wait to freak out until we know what happens tomorrow.

Well, that was the first I saw of it and it’s the earliest I’ve found it posted anywhere. Conjecture on my part, but I don’t see how Bonham has any ties to the Huckabee camp or the Thompson camp. He’s known to be FOS.

Of course, it could be a Thompson ploy too to make sure everyone votes for him; but I still don’t think he looks well.

10:36 PM: Thompson: Poor finish in Iowa won’t end campaign

GOP presidential hopeful Fred Thompson said in an in-studio interview with KCCI-TV in Des Moines that there is no truth to rumors that his campaign will fold before New Hampshire if he doesn’t have a strong showing in Iowa.

“That is absolutely made up out of whole cloth,” said the former U.S. Senator from Tennessee.

Thompson said a rival campaign was likely the source of that rumor.

“Can you imagine such a thing in politics?” he asked.

Thompson said his campaign is seeing a “surge” in interest right now, and said he has visited 50 communities in the Hawkeye State in the last couple weeks.

“I’m not going to play into any scenario that’s not totally optimistic,” he said.

Thompson touched on his plan for strengthening border security to prevent terrorist attacks, and his plan to simplify the tax code.

“Our tax code is a mess right now,” he said.

Johnathan Martin is a Huckabee hack..?

It sure smells that way. Of all the pundits, bloggers, reporters, consultants, and staffers in the world, why would the Huckster go to Martin to try to get Rush's phone number?

You are right...makes no sense. It’s a ploy by either Romney, Huckabee or McCain. Who would benefit? McCain!

FRED has been working all over the Country to build his base with all those NRO endorsements, State endorsements. NO, I just can’t see it. It could however increase FRED’s chances if it’s just another media ploy to manipulate the numbers toward their boy McCain.

This is driving me crazy! I’m just going to give up and go to bed!

If this is true, you heard it from Plutarch first:

New poll has McCain tied with Romney in NH.

Fred Thompson is putting all his eggs in the Iowa basket.

If he comes in third or fourth in Iowa, he doesn't have good prospects. He will probably then withdraw.

If he withdraws, he would likely endorse McCain. Wouldn't that be something. The great conservative hope ends up helping open-borders McCain.

In other news, the Washington Redskins may win against Seattle this weekend.

If they do, they may face the Jaguars in the Super Bowl. Or they may not. Stay tuned!

I really hope he endorses Romney. We need all the help we can get.

Yeah, Flip Romney liked Thompson before he disliked Thompson, now he likes him....maybe. Flip Romney will have to take a poll on that first.

It may be some guy somewhere who “posted” the “rumor”, but it was Martin who globbed onto it and took it up a notch.
