Fox News at 3:00 PM, now dissing the Iowa Caucus(inoculating against a Huckabee and Obama win?)
Fox News(Sheperd Smith and Carl Cameron) | January 2, 2008

Posted on 01/02/2008 12:08:43 PM PST by Dane

Watching Fox news and the lead at 3:00 PM EST, was a rant by Shepherd and Carl, saying how Iowa doesn't matter, as Roger Ailes and Fox News spent millions covering it.

I guess Roger & Co, at Fox will not like the results(Huckabee and Obama winning and getting momentum).

Roger Ailes and his friend Rush Limbaugh, are not amused, thus this little hissy fit.

“It’s looking more and more as though Rush and Fox are testing their ability to sway conservatives. For what unknown reason, I can’t imagine.”

Rush does not want a liberal like huckster winning anything. It is all about electing a CONSERVATIVE... not some liberal preacher deceiving people about who and what he really is!

Iowa isn’t important.

If Iowa doesn't matter, I'm certainly putting myself through a lot of unnecessary work.

Iowa matters to the extent that the media says it matters.

It gets headlines and name recognition.

Oh sheesh Fox News still going with the Iowa Caucus doesn't matter.

Neil Cavuto and Frank Luntz pushing the Rush/Roger Ailes point that Iowa doesn't matter, yada, yada, yada.

LOL! This after Fox News spends millions covering Iowa.

Again, the powers at Fox News must not be amused, because they couldn't affect the results.

I will say one thing about Neil Cavuto though, it looked like he was choking at swallowing the Rush/Roger Ailes memo/talking points, unlike Carl Cameron and Sheperd Smith.

huckster admitted to this attack on Rush in an interview and Rush played it today... he even said he would apologize if Rush called him. Rush laughed as HE doesn't call anyone... including the President... they call HIM! You wouldn’t know because you obviously did not listen to Rush today. huckster has screwed the pooch with El Rushbo and any true Conservatives. We will NEVER vote for a lying liberal even if they quote JESUS and have an "R" beside their name.

One man - one vote!

Oh, that’s right. They don’t do it that way in Iowa.

Never mind.

The one thing that has really disappointed me is that I thought Fox was truly going to be an independent voice, but they definitely have their candidate in the race and Hannity’s been cheering for him as hard as he can ...

By the way, I am not delusional

Didn’t Dean win there?

No, Kerry took it. That was the place of the big Dean scream.

I don't get to listen every day but I first hear Rush driving a delivery truck when I was 19 or 17 years ago. I was able to listen today and heard what you posted.

During the amnesty hoopla the same characters were slamming Rush then.

Can you give me a link to where Huckabee admitted that someone in his campaign released that statement about Rush? Last I heard, Huckabee said he didn't know anybody in his campaign who had done it.

I only heard bits and pieces of Rush today, but I didn't hear Rush say that Huckabee admitted to the attack. All I heard was Rush saying that he had received an e-mail from Huckabee that he didn't answer because he didn't want Huckabee to spin that Rush had accepted his apology and move on...

I'm not interested in voting for Huckabee (or most of the rest of them even if Hillary is the Democrat nominee.) I suspect that Huckabee is an outsider that is causing the GOP establishment a problem and all this is a ploy to hopefully dispose of him so they can get on to Giuliani, Romney, McCain, one of their own.

I actually expect that Iowa is where Huck is going to do best among the early primary states. He needs to win Iowa, and hope that win helps him in New Hampshire.

Romney needs to be in the top two in Iowa and win in New Hampshire.

If things don't work out well for them, then they are going to need to pick up endorsement from the candidates that drop out.

Fred needs a good showing, followed by a inrush of campaign donations to keep his campaign running. He needs to keep in the running, and hope either Huck or Romney stumbles quickly, otherwise he's going to have a hard time getting enough people that think he has a chance so they will consider voting for him.

I believe Huckabee will win by a decent margin.

"...Slick Willy showed us that it’s not necessarily a win that matters, it’s beating expectations."

That is a true statement, but does not go far enough.

The point is that the "expectations" will be whatever the Clintonites and their minion media state that it is. Therefore, beating expectations is a given.

Period. Reality has NOTHING to do with it.

Rush does not toe the GOP party line - he would be the last person to “carry the water” for any candidate in a primary.
