OCEANSIDE ---- A pursuit suspect from Oceanside stopped his vehicle midspan on the Coronado Bridge, exited the car and jumped off the bridge at about 7:25 p.m.Monday, along with an Oceanside police dog that tried to stop him, according to California Highway Patrol officer Larry Landeros. The man lived, but the dog died.
The pursuit began in Oceanside at 6:44 p.m after police suspected the driver was intoxicated. During the pursuit, the man was involved in a hit-and-run crash, authorities said.Highway Patrol officers joined the pursuit southbound on Interstate 5 as the car approached the Coronado Bridge, Landeros said.
The police dog lunged at the suspect as he hesitated momentarily after exiting his vehicle. The dog, a German shepherd, and the suspect both fell and the dog's body has been recovered, Landeros said.

One of the ways peace officers kept the peace was by arresting law breakers. That was before we had victimless crimes.

“How about I color you dumber than snot.”
His point was more valid than yours was. Did your mother teach you to insult people when you don’t agree with them?

You are correct to a certain point. The argument is what consists of “victimless crimes.”

I saw a documentary on the
Independent Film Channel called
"The Bridge" which showed suicides off the Golden Gate Bridge from 2004.
IMO, it was disingenuous in the sense that the filmmaker interviewed family members of those who he had filmed jump, but did not tell them at the time that he was making a documentary and had received permission from the city of San Francisco to set up cameras 24/7 from Jan-Dec 2004, to capture all these on film.

His point was more valid than yours was. Let's review the tape, shall we? Unsympathetic about the death of an innocent animal because of unrelated events. Just like that 2007 list of phrases that need to be retired from the English language, x is the new y, or bullcrap is the new validity.

The argument is what consists of victimless crimes. We can start with seatbelt crimes and go upward from there.

FReeper you just insulted didn’t address you. Your inability to control your rudeness was obvious in your first post in this thread.

Pursuit ends in death of police dog, authorities say"
"Ah pity the poh fool dat survives an incident in which a police dog perishes!"
(tip of the hat to "Mr. T" !!!)
The guy needs to take plea.
No way he'd get acquitted by a jury. Especially in California where
conservative and average folks love dogs...
and liberals think dogs are NOT owned by the people that
feed/look after them.
The only way he'll beat a wrap on contributing to the demise of
an LEO dog is if he gets a jury full of devoted Islamics
(that all hate dogs.)

The world has gone upside-down.
We have a 2005 FReeper lecturing a 1998 FReeper on etiquette.

You’ve yet to make a valid point in regard to the article. Why disrupt this thread?
BTW, I have a monster German Shepard and he doesn’t like you, either.

The man lived, but the dog died. Too bad it wasn't the other way around.
