One of these days, I have to get around to downloading Firefox. Sooner or later.
Any learning curve, or is it just self-explanatory . . .

One of these days, I have to get around to downloading Firefox. There's a painless and potentially lip-smacking happy New Year's resolution for you.

Firefox is nice & easy — I’ve been using Firefox for years and only use IE on sites that require it when I’m forced to.

Firefox has a learing curve, but it is not that difficult.
The advantage to Firefox is that, after the basic browser, you can build your own. Firefox has extensions/plug-ins that add to its capabilities. Just be cautious that the more extensions you add, the more of a slowdown you may experience. They range from fancy neato toys to very practical and useful tools.
I have about a dozen extensions installed with mine. Some of them sure make life online much easier.

Any learning curve, or is it just self-explanatory .What IE calls 'favorites' Firefox calls 'Bookmarks'. That's pretty much all you need to know for a smooth transition.
