Less than 30 years ago mormon misssionaries on bikes told me tyhat they were now teaching about ther “holy spirit”
I had told two young mormon missionaries who had accosted me in the street about their cult, that they denied the Holy Spirit of the Bible and they informed me brightly that they were teaching about the “holy spirit” now since they had had complaints about the ommission...
After questioning them and discovering they knew nothing about their “holy spirit” other than they had recently been instructed to add him/it to their propaganda, I told them to read the Bible for themselves and that they did not have the Holy Spirit of God in the Bible...
After that I found that other mormons were adding the “holy spirit” to their story..
In the last 40 years I have watched the mormons “evolve” several parts of the Christian beliefs from the Bible into their false doctrine...
Why on earth do you think we ask people to put the challenge to the test, and ask God. Why is this following promise in the last chapter of the Book of Mormon, and always has been? The holy spirit is fundamental to our doctrine, and always will be.
Moroni 10:3-5
3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your heart's.

I’m sorry you feel that way. In my experience, if I’m not very clear and very explicit about what I mean in these discussions, people will tend to try and misrepresent what I say, which then results in accusations of backpedaling, etc. as I attempt to clarify. It’s become my habit therefore to be very clear. I reasoned that examples would help with that.
The LDS rejection of the Doctrine of the Trinity will come as no shock to anyone familiar with LDS beliefs. Indeed, it is a basis by which some claim that we are not Christians. I do not think pot-stirring is a likely result.
