I love Duncan, but he really needs to throw his support behind Fred at this point.

Yeah Hunter is a good guy, and would make a wonderful Defense Secretary. It’s time for him to drop out and get behind Fred. He should have been out before Tancredo.

It’s time for him to drop out and get behind Fred.

But if Hunter drops out, there will be no where for the Evangelicals to go... they'll have to stick with Huckabee.

Better for Fred to bow out and endorse Hunter, the only consensus candidate in the field.

If Hunter was even registering as a blip on the radar I might feel differently, but the truth is most people don’t realize he is still in the race. As for your comments, “evangelicals” are forced to choose between Huckabee and Hunter is absurd. I am an evangelical Christian and I have no problem voting for Thompson. Why Hunter would have some advantage over Thompson in that regard I don’t know.

I beleive that Duncan Hunter is the best choice of conservatives because he is a conservative and that is not true of most of the leaders in the GOP today. He would continue to try and win the war, he would stop illegal immigration and build a fence, he would keep taxes low and allow the free market economy to work with out government overtaxation, he would pick supreme court justices that are true conservatives.
But the rinos like liberals.

Better for Fred to have stayed out in the first place. Why should Hunter bow out and endorse Thompson? Why didn't Thompson stay out and endorse Hunter? During all the "Run, Fred, Run" coyness, everyone was holding back on critical support to see if Thompson was going to enter the race.

He played coy, and all along, we were insured daily, Fred knew what he was doing. So finally, he announces (on Leno), alienates Iowa and NH voters, pro-family and values voters, but was finally in the race. So, here we are mere weeks from the first votes being cast and we are hearing calls for the only Conservative in the race to quit and endorse the protoge of the great centrist, Howard Baker? Fred still has enough support to be a player, so it would actually make more sense for him to drop out and endorse Romney, and as a southerner have a shot as VP on Romney's ticket. After SC, he will no longer be a player. However it all plays out, I am going to, as many assert, "waste" my vote by voting for the best candidate, Duncan Lee Hunter. :)

You think he would turn to Romney and not McCain?

No, I don’t think that at all. That would be his best move, imo, not that he would do it. He has some political capital to spend, and he has enough support right now to control the direction of the election, but not to win it. I don’t think he helps McCain at all. He would be somewhat of an asset to Rudy, definitely to Romney. I think better of Fred than to endorse the Huckster, but if he did I think that would decide the election. I am not basing this on FR or those involved and somewhat knowledgeable about politics. I am using the GOP electorate as the model, lol.

One thing is for sure - The Libs, RINOs and business classes will do or say anything to make sure that BOTH of the next candidates are open borders types.

If that means they simply have to completely ignore Hunter (as FOX news does, and others) that is what they will do.

Just look at the latest “surge” of McLame in the press. They will try and promote the open borders types one by one and they will do so with an eye on the election cycle clock, hoping to play it out until the election buzzer sounds.

They will do and say ANYTHING to make sure the borders are flung open even wider after the next election, and screw what you or your fellow citizens want. After all, you’re only “nativists” and they don’t have to listen to nativist racists such as you, do they?

You nailed it. The kingmakers in the media don’t care about the war as much as they care about open borders. That’s their non-negotiable issue, and if people actually hear Hunter talk about it, they’ll get behind him. It’s still the sleeping giant issue.

Huck has been artificially propped up by the media as much as Hunter has been artificially suppressed.

Important way to help Duncan Hunter

By helping send him to "Politition Finishing School".

Ronald Reagan spent a huge amount of time/effort prepping for the Presidency. He worked hard at getting the people/political skills necessary to win a statewide and then a nationwide election. If you can't get elected, all of your wonderful positions mean SQAUT!

Yeah, and Huck was in the same place just a few weeks ago.

Why Hunter would have some advantage over Thompson in that regard I don’t know.

Oh, I dunno... Somebody dissed the Value Voters, got in a big pissin' match with Dobson, proclaimed that he only goes to church when he's around his momma, and then declared that his faith wouldn't be part of his campaign, denied pro-life and pro-family amendments, not to mention a divorce and an early pro-choice position...

The other declares his faith as a big part of his campaign, as always been pro-life, has always been pro-family, is happily married (once) for many years and etcetera...

Gee, I don't know what the advantage could possibly be...

I agree entirely. Whether it was by design or not, Fred acts as the perfect foil to split the Conservative vote. Huck's support won't be going to him, so the best we can hope for if Fred is in the race is that the Evangelicals eventually latch onto Hunter.

If not, the best we can hope for is that they wind up with McCaine (yuck)... or they will stay with Huck. That means a RINO nominee no matter how you slice it.

However it all plays out, I am going to, as many assert, "waste" my vote by voting for the best candidate, Duncan Lee Hunter. :)

ME TOO! B4DH!
