Yeah it’s great when you think you’re buying a new product and it ends up being a return item.

Or worse, a totally different item. I've had experience with certain electronic retailers who shall remain nameless (initials are "BB") from whom I tried to purchase a 250GB hard drive. Something looked strange so before I bought it, I opened the box and found an ancient 2GB hard drive inside. I asked the guy about it who just looked really embarassed and took it back.

And had I paid for and left the store with that item, I would have been SOL, according to their policy.

Yup...our local Best Buy has been busted selling opened packages as new.
