(CNN) Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson has weighed in on the death of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
This is a war that were engaged in. Its an international conflict, said Thompson. Its a global conflict. Al Qaeda wants to bring Western civilization to its knees.
Thompson also told reporters Thursday that he thinks terrorism has never left the agenda of the 2008 presidential race. This is no time for on-the-job training, added the former Tennessee senator, emphasizing the need for experience....

I personally do not trust Musharaff, do you? He had promised safe passage to Bhutto but did not deliver.
I wish Thompson would promise to get Osama ‘dead or alive,’ and mean it, if he becomes president.
Trust him or not, he is the leader of a large and very important country with a nuclear arsenal. The experience of meeting and talking with Musharaff could be invaluable to someone who must deal with him as president. Thompson (and McCain) has this experience, Romney and Huckabee don't.
So what is the story? You have to give us some information if you want to use that attack.
Where is the origin so that we can look at it?
Fred came across great in that short video...he is the right man for the big job.
Just the latest MittWitt talking point sent out from the Romney camp.
Perhaps the events in Pakistan will force the MSM to actually focus on candidates who have foreign policy experience.
The only Dem with any credible experience (and that's a term I use loosely) is Joe Biden.

That wouldn't be a good thing to say about Obama.
HUH? Nevermind..
“Just the latest MittWitt talking point sent out from the Romney camp.”
It isn’t even that, from what I could find post 11 is it, just some words plucked out of thin air, a total lie.
I couldn’t find anything more, period, just the words she posted.
Here is the article where the words appear.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1944451/posts?page=1,100
She posted it on 6 or 7 threads and I can’t find any real source for it either.
Oh, so now Ronald Kessler is a liar. Sheeesh. You guys are fast and loose with calling people liars.
When I google it, I get this thread. :-)
A former CIA officer recalls what happened when Bo Derek and seven other members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Committee visited Pakistan in late 2002.
The other senators, including John Edwards, attended the classified intelligence briefing, the former officer says. Bo Derek blew it off and spent a lot of time drinking and eating.
When he just throws those two sentences into a middle of an article with no context, names, dates, sources, absolutely nothing but those two sentences then I’m calling it a bizarre lie.
If you can find something more fill us in, but until then you need to stop spreading it.
Where’s the reference? What’s the “CIA officer’s” name?
“Drinking and eating,” FWIW, keeps you alive. You do it all the time, Saundra. Perhaps it was the best thing to do under the circumstances.
Saundra wants the disciple of the pseudo-prophet Joseph Smith to become president, no matter what it takes.
When I google it, I get this thread. That's the MO of the drive-by media:
Make up a story. Wait till someone else "reports" on the made-up story. Then "report" on the report as "corroboration".
Works for the DBM. Why can't it work for posters here in FR?
