Is Huckabee a Jimmy Carter Christian? I can only say that I believe Duncan Hunter comes closer to being My Kind of Christian. In my view Jimmy Carter might be a Christian and I hope and pray he is, however he was a very weak Christian and I say this based on his inability to go after the Americans that were being held captive By Iran. I also believe Huckabee and Carter are the same type Christians.
Ronald Reagan was a Christian in my view. Hunter is a very serious Christian, the kind the devil told you to stay away from type Christian.
I won’t be voting for Huckabee, but my decision is based on other issues raised before this article.
That's about the dumbest thing that I've seen on FR or even Democrat Underground.
You need therapy.
Yes, we spot a man who’s got a lot of bad policies and seems to be hiding behind his religiousness.
We FReepers can do better than mischaracterize and demonize and alienate, though. We can speak the truth in a winsome manner, so as to win over those who are prone to vote for Huckabee, and change their votes to either Thompson or Hunter.
But yes, there is some hatred for Huckabee on this forum. And it makes some people say some pretty silly things. The *truth* about Huckabee is frightening enough.
I am not voting for Huckabee in the primaries. He’s soft on ILLEGAL immigration, bad on taxes, seems fairly inept with foreign policy, and so on.
I don’t want to see FR descend into such vitriolic rhetoric as I’ve seen develop over the past year or so. It’s as though we’ve taken on Michael Moore’s nasty tactics. I want us to argue winsomely with facts, not with mischaracterization and innuendo. We’re more effective that way.
I strongly advocate voting for either Thompson or Hunter in the primaries.
Am I still being ambiguous?
Huckabee is the only candidate besides Hunter willing to do something about the Chicoms’ trade surplus. Further, Huckabee’s victory would give social conservatism a mandate it’s never had; and liberal decadence is easily one of the deciding factors of whether the West continues to outshine the rest of the world or whether we go the way of the Roman Empire.
I was thinking the same thing 6 months ago. Now, I think the names should be reversed.
I agree there is *some* hatred, or the appearance of hatred for Huckabee on FR. I believe most of it is disruptors trying to make FReepers look like crazies so as to discredit the site. That behavior happens more than most would believe.
Agreed.
” Or in Carters case: If it swims like a bunny and sounds like a bunny, then its probably a swimming bunny. “
If it swims like a bunny, drinks like a skid row fish, and lies like a stammering coward, it’s got to be Teddie.
I don’t hate Huckabee.
I do believe he’s about the worst choice among the Republicans, save for Ron Paul, but it’s not personal, it’s “business.” He’s wrong on the issues.
Agreed.
I think he’d be a fine Pastor, neighbor, friend, or family member.
He might be pro-life and pro-gun - two positives, but once you consider that he sports the economic philosophy of John Edwards and the foreigh policy of Barack Obama, we see that there are far better choices out there.
As abhorrent and disgusting as the practice might be, I do not want any president picking a judge who would impose his moral values on us. I want a president who will pick judges who will properly interpret the constitution, nothing more.
I don’t think I’d want Huckabee as my pastor. Too many questions about his integrity, frankly.
I wouldn’t say Huck’s a Jimmah Christian. But he’d likely be a Jimmah president and that’s . . . not good.
I agree it’s dimwitted, but it is indeed an oft-retorted “logic” spewed around here-—to wit, that if “my” candidate is not nominated, then said person will take their marbles and go home or vote for Sure Loser as a third party candidate.
Yes.
I would like to clone your brain and stick it in the heads of 6 million brain dead people of my state Massachusetts.
I always vote for whoever is running against Teddy, but what good does that do? There are only about 30% of us in Massachusetts who have any brains.
