Aren't the words apologize and sorry, synonyms.

Is this what you mean?

I apologize that you are sorry.

This should be interesting on FR, as many FReepers and Queen Ann Coulter herself will probably agree with CBS's MS. Cordes's spin

Thread Self-Hijacking Attempt!

Attempt fails. Thread remains focused on Preacher Huck's unsuitability for Commander-in-Chief position.

That wasn't obvious to me but heck, if he made a mistake and used the word apologize instead of condolences that's fine with me. If he's smart though, he'll get out there and "apologize" for misspeaking. What I don't like is his supporters demonizing everyone who objects to his use of the word and whitewashing the real meaning of the word. Considering that he recently came out with typical liberal Bush-bash about the US foreign policy he really does owe us an explanation for his choice of that word. He is running for the Republican nomination, isn't he?

Given the gravity of the situation, it seems like very poor taste.

If you want to incorporate the tragedy into your campaign
rally, at least select some more appropriate music.

[“not with bullets but with ballots,”]

Some candidates, however, do dress up like Elmer Fuddabee’s and campaign with gun’s.

his statement was no more or less substantive than any of the other blow-hards who have come out to this point

Less. Much less. It was a response that indicated that he had no idea who this lady was and so didn't want to say anything at all. Someone briefed him on the go, and told him he had to say something, so he did. His apology was assinine.

I hope the Iowans don't fall for his schtick. I am waiting for him to be gone from the scene. Romney and Rudy are RINOs. This guy is just nuts, and is easily led, and would be as dangerous as any Dem.

“I think today is not the best day to comment on what the Musharraf government should or shouldn’t have done” though “we need a full accounting of that money.”

Wow, talk about a shallow response. That's a terrible effort. Honestly, it sounds like the kind of response a fifth grader would offer up.

In a word, no.

BTW, thanks for posting this. I'm glad I didn't miss yet another embarrassing episode in the life of Candidate Huckabee. Without your help it's quite likely I never woudl have seen this.

What do we have to appologize for?

We have to apologize because we are Americans - didn't you get the e-mail????

Huckabee has bought into the liberal mantra that we have to apologize for everything. Why are we calling him a Republican anymore - he's stealing the left's talking points...

Huckabee never misses an opportunity to advertise his complete ignorance about National and Global security.

Huckabee makes Bill Clinton look like a genius when it comes to global politics.

If Hillary wins, then basically two families controlled the White House from 1988 - 2012 (minimum). If Huckabee wins, then we have two liberals from Arkansas with a liberal Republican in the middle (or "compassionate conservative" as he calls himself) controlling things from 1992 through 2012. Either way it's not good, and thankfully Huckabee appears fully intent on sinking his own ship before it sets sail.

I know, it seems that Huckabee basically expressing sympathies to the Pakastani people has brought out the neo grammar and syntax nazis in full bloom, and they knee jerkingly equate that to Jimmy Carter.

Oh, I quite concur.

Huckleberry Hound has a way to go before he can be fully equated with Jimmy Carter.

Carter had better teeth.
