Bleeding-heart types looking for a "minority cause for which to advocate in the 2008 presidential elections are torn between the candidacies of a woman, two African- Americans, a Hispanic and a former mayor of Cleveland who is more of a communist than Vladimir Putin.
Tough choices, those, and all of them Democrats.
In the interest of fairness, however, the name of Mitt Romney should be added to the shopping list of those searching for an oppressed minority to support.
As a practicing member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons), Romney is aligned with one of the most persecuted and oppressed minorities in history. Even in these enlightened times, millions of Americans say they would not vote for the charismatic ex-governor of Massachusetts under any circumstances.
And, in an amazing demonstration of religious bigotry, a New Hampshire liberal rag, the Concord Monitor, used its Sunday editorial pages to tell readers why they should not vote for Mitt Romney.
This "anti-endorsement" is unprecedented, unfair, un-American and unwise.
Editors at the Concord Monitor even went so far as to warn readers that Romney must be stopped ". . . because he lacks the core philosophical beliefs to be a trustworthy president."

That particular bit of editorial malfeasance is a thinly-veiled assault on Romney's Mormon faith, pure and simple.
Fact of the matter is that Mitt Romney is the most conservative candidate running for the White House. He is also the most experienced and qualified, a fact attested to by his service as the governor of liberal-infested Massachusetts, and by his enormously successful personal finances.
Mitt Romney knows how to work with people from diverse political backgrounds, how to overcome discrimination and adversity, and he knows how to run a large organization. No other candidate comes close to matching his qualifications for taking over the Oval Office on Ja
You do also claudiustg! Good night.
I remember when his dad was Gov. and ran for Prez.
I also remember when his dad said the Generals brainwashed him and was against the war in Viet nam
A long time good frien of mine orignially from Gorsse Pointe, Mich. and a relative of Mitt also does not remember George being involved in Civil Rights especially Mitt’s version.
You really ARE a Kool-aid drinker, aren't you? Dmw posts verifiable, documented evidence, much of it quotations straight out of Willard's mouth, from conservative mags like Human Event, and you call it "attack junk from the left"? You Mittwitts really are impervious to logic and reason, aren't you?
Care to show, with links, where Ann Coulter or Michelle Malkin have endorsed Willard?
National Review or no National Review, this statement alone is a complete and utter falsehood. As has been shown on FR numerous times before, Romney was for amnesty - and never has really come out solidly against it. And his record on enforcing immigration laws - what with his support in times past for sanctuary cities, and his own hiring of illegals, and retention of same when he knew they were illegal - is abominable. NR jumped the shark, and has little credibility as a "conservative" news source anymore.
Look it up!
I did. MM hasn’t endorsed anyone yet, though she seems to be leaning toward Fred. AC is Hunter’s girl.
That is why one of our staunchest pro border enforcement congressmen, Tom Tancredo, endorsed Mitt. Your postings don’t match any reality that is going on.
So why did Tancredo's Iowa campaign chairman (not manager, CHAIRMAN) immediately move to Fred's campaign? Probably because he didn't have any campaign debts for Willard to pay off, and thus didn't have a reason for supporting The Myth.
That’s true about Coulter liking Duncan Hunter best, Titus. But she’s also intelligent enough to realize Hunter has no shot and she has since gone on record to say that Romney is her favorite front runner.
Mitt Romney’s father was a great man. He certainly was a civil rights activist along side MLK. It’s a matter of fact, a historical fact. I was glad when the MSM started attacking Mitt about his father’s civil rights activities. Before that, I did not know about his father’s stellar record on civil rights and his brave activism at a time when it was not the least bit popular. Go, Mitt!
“Romney is her favorite front runner”
I thought so. Gosh, now a whole bunch of FReepers are going to have to start hating Ann Coulter. How fun.
Go, Ann! Go, Mitt!
Is there no one that Romney has not paid?
She'll probably change that soon, once Wilard's liberalism starts to hit the MSM.
I don’t know. She seems like an intelligent and informed woman to me. I’m sure she is quite familiar with Mitt’s record.
I like Duncan Hunter myself and have said so many times around here. Why he isn’t doing better is beyond me.
lol!
I agree. I’d happily vote for Hunter, I just realize I’ll never have the opportunity to. Pretending that is not reality will get us nowhere.
Oh....come on....how lame can we get here?
Maybe, maybe not. Problem is, NOBODY is really sure exactly where Mitt lies (no pun intended) on many issues.
