No problem ladies! Merry Christmas y’all!

When God wants one to be humble, He humiliates. My MIL is my catalysis to humility!

I think my hubby got all his genes from his dad.

Her own children call her Janet from another Planet.

My husband bought me once a leather jacket. Unfortunately it didn’t fit so I exchanged it to another jacket. It was not the same jacket he had bought me, but another one. They didn’t have my size. Lets say he got teedoff and didn’t understand that I couldn’t wear the other jacket

“Merry Christmas! Buy your child a toy, and tell her it’s from her grandmother.”

Just what I was thinking.

>>If the person gave a gift with a positive intention, then that is what counts<<

So what if it’s just an obligatory gift? No love intended.

I love small glass boxes from my kids who used their hard earned money to get mommy something. From my MIL, it’s crass.

My younger daughter got me a pig in ice skates pin. I adore it. If my MIL got it for me, it would be the thing that took me over the edge and she would get it whipped at her face.

>>Just what I was thinking.<<

Just what we do.

I don’t want my daughter to go through it again.

For 5 years, my only gifts from my parents for Christmas or my birthday were greeting cards with a handwritten note that $20 had been taken off my debt.

My parents were well-off, but when I got divorced, I was stuck with the mortgage and having to pay off some nice-sized debts my hubby had run up. Then our condos increased the monthly HOA fees from $60 to $300 and it took me by surprise.

That first month, I borrowed $200 from the folks. No one in the family ever let me forget what a deadbeat freeloader I was. Sheesh! They spent that much on a meal.

This is what I got for Christmas L0L,

I like gadgets, doesn't matter what kind. When I give gifts I try to give things I personally like.......

This year's gift of choice for several nieces and nephews was a digital thermometer/hygrometer with a remote transmitter. I have one and I love it.

I just found out my one nephew and his wife won't be in attendance this afternoon but rather at her family's, so I took their wrapped thermometer to the gas station where I always buy my gas and gave it to Samir, the guy that works there. He's working today and I don't know if he has any family so I thought I could do something nice for him.

Don't know if he's into digital thermometers/hygrometers but at least it made him smile...........that's all that really matters I guess.

I have to brag, I saw a mini-marshmallow gun on the internet and figured out how to make them. I gave them to all six of the kids and their fathers, it is their favorite gift and I spent $25 total on all 8 of them and they each got a bag of marshmallow ammo too. My yard is a mess but they are having a blast.

I’m so sorry. You deserved better.

My parents were generous to a fault. When they died, both my sisters owed them thousands. Yet, both of them are greedy with their own children. Go figure.

When we were in need, we went to my hubby’s dad. He was willing to lend us money with an eight percent interest rate. We got six at the bank.

My husband and sons made those for the whole Cub Scout troop. We need to bring them out for the parish festival next year, and have them available for sale to the non-Scouting kids, after they’ve seen how fun they are. (All proceeds to the Building Fund :-).

I was thinking of the Devil’s Dictionary. Some very good stuff in it, but it’s hard to keep it up to a high level through so many definitions. “An Incident at Owl Creek” is certainly quite something.

Here’s a link to the instructions. Anyone can make them they’re easy! We used a chop saw but you can use a little hand saw or a small pipe cutter. The pipe cutter would make smoother edges.
