I've read the articles as well since I live nearby. These kids were on his property! They were threatning to harm his kid. And who cares if they were unarmed? They were four and he was only one, 50+ year old guy.

I tend to agree, but I do not know enough about the circumstances that led him to pull the trigger. A man has a right to defned his family, especially on his own property. I just do not know the degree of the threat.
True......but if they had broken in, then you are justified to shoot and kill one or all with a gun or shotgun. It was stupid of him and his son to confront them outside. Always, always stay inside and call for help.
My husband has always told me that if I have to shoot someone, I better drag them inside the house before the cops come.
Seriously, you can’t just shoot someone for being on your property, they have to at least be at the threshold.
