This may be a wee bit more important:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1943213/posts

Fred Thompson, running for President as the “plain-speaking consistent conservative,” was asked about campaign finance reform by Laura Ingraham on her radio show the day after his Presidential announcement. She said, “One of the things that also happened in the Senate was McCain-Feingold and it was initially called McCain-Feingold-Thompson. Of course that’s campaign finance reform. As you know, Senator Thompson, the Supreme Court has struck down part of that as unconstitutional on First Amendment grounds, you know, issue ads that you can’t run before a general election or a primary contest, which for conservatives like me are just anathema to the First Amendment. You now say that you see unintended consequences resulting from campaign finance reform. Would you today tell us that you made a mistake in supporting campaign finance reform?”

Every violent video game for PCs are immediately available for free download online.

Same goes for all violent games for PSX PS2, N64, nintendo DS and all older video game consoles.

Not only is this position by Mitt a grand sweep of statism, it is 100% pure BS moralistic posturing, and it is farcical at first glance.

Mitt is just another corrupt suit playing the status quo. Crap like this is why less and less people give a rat’s arse about politics in this country.

Wow, just what we need, Parent in Chief. I remember the good-old-days when it was only the dems leading the charge to force government regulation of this. Remember the classic Tipper Gore versus Dee Snider?

Violent games have always been a part of growing up. When I was a kid, we had toy guns and played army. Sometimes we even played cops & robbers.

I guess Mitt will toss our kids in jail if they pull any of that crap!

Al Gore promised he’d crack down on naughty musicians too. The culture is more steeped in it ever before and they are among his most vocal supporters despite he and his wife’s use of the government to hold hearings about the content of MTV and record albums.

These are blowhard issues for candidates to sound conservative.

The only ones who suffer in these situations are minimum wage retail store clerks who get busted by vice squads and have to pay for their own legal defense.

We need nationalized legal care because too few go without quality legal coverage. < /s >

Someone should tell Mitt that violent video games don’t kill people, violent video game players do....

Really he needs to grow some and take on the teaching of sex ed in our schools. Parents can handle the video games.

There was a thread here a day or so ago about a 14 year old girl and her 17 year old boyfriend in Colorado babysitting her 7 year old sister. He decided to use his "karate" skills and act out some video game they were playing on the 7 year old. She's now dead. The parent/parents have the responsibility to monitor their own children's behavior but I believe the game also had some influence.

I suppose Mitt will also go after gun dealers who sell violent assault rifles. You go Mitt...right on over to the Democratic Party, where you belong.

Mitt dear ... it’s not about the videos.

It’s ALL about what’s in a person’s heart .... people will ALWAYS find ways to view vile things for entertainment.

what is he talking about? I don’t know a single retailer that sells adult only video games. You can buy them online, but usually from overseas countries.

Is he talking about mature rated games, which are different from adult only games? The largest retail game store will not sell M rated games to anyone without photo id, and that includes merchandise related to the game like t-shirts and the like. If they are caught selling to underage kids, the employee and the store manager are automatically fired.

So it sounds like Mitt doesn’t have a clue on this subject.

This could explain why no Romney has served in the Military since before the Civil War.
