People were partying and feasting and singing and celebrating long before Jesus. I don’t get the problem. I celebrate Christmas and nobody has a problem with it. I don’t care what they do outside the town hall. I do what I want in my yard and say what I want to the people I care to greet. Seems to me that most of the stuff about the “war” on Christmas is overblown and silly. There is a war on but it’s not on Christmas as a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus and have a good time doing it.

Disclaimer: I’m not a Christian. But I appreciate Christianity.
Anyhow, I make it a point to say “Merry Christmas”. The CEO of the company (I’m its CTO) and I make it a point to call it a “Christmas Party, not a Holiday Party”.
We’re a fairly small company (20 people).
This year we’ve grown a fair amount, so it’s always fun to see the reaction when I wished people yesterday to “have a Merry Christmas”.
At first, they stutter a little bit and then return it, almost like it’s taboo.
We even have a very conservative Christian fellow who works for us. I think even he was taken aback. But I got the most enthusiastic “Merry Christmas” from him :)

I was thrilled with my Kindergartener’s school program this week, since the ‘C’ word is still being used. I made sure to take a picture of the banner above the risers:
“T’was the night before Christmas....”
I know alot of people that wouldn’t beleive we still have Chirstmas in our schools otherwise.
And a tear came to my eye as the children sang -
“Jesus, Lord at thy birth....”

I'm with you- I say it to everyone I meet for the same two reasons-
Also, have started sending all my business related email signed with "Merry Christmas and God Bless!"
Its a free country- time we started acting like it! :-)
I have been dealing with a LOT of new vendors lately and have yet to have any of them say anything bad- most thank me and say "happy holidays" back , but also go out of their way to be nice.
If people want to kill Chrismas, its a lot easier for them to do so if we refuse to share its joy out of fear or anger.
Christ DIED for us. Least we can do is spread the word....
Merry Christmas and God Bless freepers!

True, evil triumphs when good people do nothing.

My business takes me to many locations during a workday. I simply do not allow people to be PC in my presence.
It’s Merry Christmas or, by God, they’re gonna hear about it. It might make little difference when I’m gone but, they’ll damn sure remember me next year.
I encourage all to do the same. You have to fight for what’s right!

The pushing will continue as long as the ACLU lawyers ride roughshod and unopposed over tradition and right. The Alliance Defense Fund is the only way I know of to fight the corrupt group of blackrobes that allow a tiny group of evildoers to dictate and force their agenda on the masses. Option 2 involves means not acceptable to a meek and subserviant society.

Just Remember ( I have a REALLY , REALLY hard time with this one) -
Dont fight like the Devil For Jesus.
All that is required to beat back the scrooges out there is a Lot of joyful proclamations of christmas cheer.
Most people aren't the bad guys. They are on the fence and terrified of offending someone.
They think being silent is non-offensive.
Show them theres a better way. Let them see there are a LOT of good people around who aren't cowed by the PC nazi's.
Also, since most people are afraid , its up to US to gird them. Joy and Goodness are contagious. When we get frustrated, angry and start acting evil ourselves, that ALSO is contagious.
I'm up for a couple fights with the ACLU- hows about you?
Send me to jail over protecting my kids rights to say things about christmas at school? Thats a sentance I'd be willing to take Joyfully-It'd give me a great chance to work out.....
Read Pauls trials in the Bible. He had it a LOT worse than we do now.
in any case, Merry Christmas to all on this site-
You've made me proud to be American and in such good company ( yeah- even you cool aussies, Brits and Spaniards are alright by me also) :-) Merry Christmas! He is Born!

Merry Christmas! (No offense)
Maybe I hang at Free Republic too much (said with a bit of jest).
At my job at an office of a major corporate entity, I "self-
censored" a bit and ventured a "Happy Holidays" to a few co-workers
when we were closing today.
To my shock (and modest happy suprise)...I got a "MERRY CHRISTMAS"
reply from my co-workers.
This is one way to remind me that I'm in Missouri now.
And not in Los Angeles!

I’m fighting the devils who came down to Texas looking for some souls to steal.
God blessed Texas. I’m trying to make sure we thank him. BTW: I'm not ugly with these folks. They're my costumers.
